If we get a DPP remake, all I'd really want is some of Platinum's features and regional dex integrated, plus the general QOL improvements recent games have gotten.
Oh, and maybe expand on the Underground since it's the best feature.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The underground was fun.
Eh, I didn't really enjoy it, I found it to be kinda tedious.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I'm not against Gen 4 remakes, but I'm never gonna play em.
I really love what ORAS did to RS, and I'm excited for something similar with DP.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeOn another note, I got my first gym badge in Pokemon Black. I solo'd the Striaton Gym with Pansear, only switching out to heal him and let my other Pokemon faint. My main hitters are a level 12 Pansear and a level 13 Oshawott.
There's nothing wrong with it per say, but it feels like we could be moving the series forward with all that time and those resources. Next to nothing in a remake will make it into the next Pokemon game, so to me they feel like wastes overall.
First gym's always a gimme. Second's where the challenge kicks in.
Song of the SirensOh I remember Lenora. I died to her the first time because of Retaliate.
Do you think HGSS or ORAS held the series back? HGSS was a huge improvement over the original, and ORAS at least introduced new Megas. How fast do you want new gens? A new gen every 3-4 years feels about right to me. Now if you want a Colosseum-esque spin-off on say, XY's engine, then I would probably agree, but those won't advance the series any more than the remakes.
I want the main series to end. As in, become the original series, and each new game in the new series does something different. Maybe it could appeal to a different demographic. Maybe it could appeal to the competitive or casual crowd. Maybe it could focus on stories that existed but were never told before. (Cynthia's journey through the Sinnoh region? Maybe Emma's role as a detective.) These sorts of ideas without any gimmicks are restricted to fanfiction, and it's sad because if Pokemon ever explored them it would be so much MORE than it is now. Instead it is Strictly Formula.
I also think that Pokemon should have stopped before 600 Pokemon. But let's not get into that.

Mmm, I get the feeling some people just ignore the multiplayer in Pokemon, and thus we end up with that kind of opinion.
I have fun raising Pokemon and pitting them against others. The single player has never been that important.
That's some amazing luck on the second turn.
For me, it's all about the single player because the competitive scene terrifies me. Thankfully, I'm fine with the single player as it is.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Remakes are great because when done right (FRLG and HGSS) they appeal to nostalgia while still allowing fans who haven't played the originals to experience the story. When done wrong you end up with ORAS which while good isn't nearly as good as the original because it tried to appeal to nostalgia whilst also making drastic changes to the characters that completely changed the story.
A Colosseum like entry would be better, yeah. It's an entirely new experience and not a retread, so I wouldn't mind it largely being self contained.
I'm not quite sure why people dislike ORAS. It made Archie and Maxie even more memorable, and made their admins actual characters that I could remember in the first place. While I certainly miss some features Emerald had, I think it's a complete improvement over the original games.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeAnd I will certainly not play any game before physical/special split again.
Also the evil teams in RSE are horribly bland. They are the blandest since Team Rocket.

Non Indicative UsernameBut why dump in the Battle Maison when you already had a Battle Frontier? That was a really stupid decision.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I have no problem re-playing the older gen games, I'm just focused on Pokemon Black right now.
I can replay up to Diamond and Pearl. I find it exceedingly difficult to play pre-split games.
Which is a shame because Colosseum and XD are great.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I can replay all the games- and do so semi-frequently. The Physical/Special split doesn't bother me in the least.
Though, honestly, RSE are my least favorite games to revisit.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI also can't properly enjoy the pre-split games. That was just too big and too good a change.
Oh really when?
Sinnoh has a lot of quality of life fixes that would be helpful even after Platinum. And what's wrong with wanting to see Sinnoh in better graphics? The region deserves it, and it would be on the same engine as gen 8 or 9, so it's not like they'd be wasting much resources making it. My issue would be that I don't know if I trust GF to do the necessary fixes after what happened to ORAS.
