I always carry around a False Swiper with me, and I always save my Master Ball just in case of extenuating circumstances like a shiny that knows Explosion.

Clawitzer and Blastoise get Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse, and Dragon Pulse, and while Water Pulse is sorta weak it reaches a respectable 90 base power with Mega Launcher, same power as Surf but with the Confusion chance. What more do you want?

Nope.
For it to go to something that can abuse it for STAB, not coverage. That is to say, a Fighting, Dark or Dragon type with their respective Pulse move. It frustrates me to see so much wasted potential for it.

no. the moves boosted by mega launcher are:
Aura Sphere
Dark Pulse
Dragon Pulse
Heal Pulse
Origin Pulse
Water Pulse
the reason aura sphere gets boosted is because of the japanese names for the ability and the moves, but i don't remember the specifics.

Heals 75% rather than 50, yeah.
Which means that giant crab thing is a better healer than the dedicated ones.
Aura Sphere's Japanese name is Pulse Bomb IIRC, hence why it gets grouped with the others.
But yeah, Focus Blast and Hydro Pump would enjoy the compatibility. Stuff that Bulletproof stops should be the one that gets boosted by Mega Launcher.

Strangely enough, I haven't really seen anyone recommend Work Up for competitive battle despite I find it just decent.
Anyway, does anyone remember Berserk Gene? Actually, I forgot about it until now, and its effect is really awful.

Geodude has a 1/3 chance of being caught just with a Pokeball at full health, so you should have just thrown Pokeballs at it.
Really, most unevolved Pokemon have high enough catch rates that you can easily catch them at full health. Just chuck Pokeballs at them until you catch them instead of accidentally killing them like I keep hearing about in this thread.
