Pokemon seems to have a bigger competitive scene, though.

What...

Somehow this doesn't surprise me.

You mean the comment about Marioguy? Oh, but he really doesn't like anything. He's a chronic pessimist.

If you're looking for optimism from me, I'd advise you to look in non-Nintendo related threads.

Pokemon seems to have a bigger competitive scene, though.

I'm not really sure. I mean, the Pokemon competitive scene is kind of small, compared to most other competitive scenes out there. Though Smash Bros.' scene is kind of small too. Probably cause it's not really a fighting game and Brawl kind of killing the competitive aspects of the series.

This is not a Smash Bros thread. Let's not open that can of worms here, please.

[up][up] I only meant bigger than SSBB, not other competitive scenes.

Moving on, my favorite games are Ruby/Sapphire. Emerald isn't bad, IMO. Just didn't compare.

[up][up]Oh, okay then.

Hmm, I'd have to say HG/SS are my favorites.

I'd probably say SoulSilver, but with new ones coming out in just over a month, I'll reserve my opinion.

My favorite is usually just whatever the most recent is.

I mostly like Emerald because NDS emulator is lagging as fuck so I can't really compare newer games.

Got back from the first class today. For those baffled by the mix of game stuff, anime stuff, and "how could this possibly work?", my understanding is that the course is intended to be holistic in nature. Namely, that any Pokefan, regardless of preference of medium would be able to walk in and enjoy something about the course. The assignments are mostly there to make sure that people actually come to the class twice a week and do something instead of getting a free credit for a social hour (and from what I've heard, are mostly graded on how blatantly you half-assed stuff). Today was basically 30-40 minutes icebreaker, with the remainder consisting of some administrivia.

I took notes for anyone who was curious.

Leafgreen is my favourite, followed by Pearl. Then Ruby goes last. I haven't played my Soulsilver yet.

Yay! Someone chose Staryu!
