Do the Russians even have MiG-29s in Syria, or could it have been a Syrian example?
RAF helicopter crash: Five Nato staff die in Afghanistan
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said the crash was "an accident and not the result of insurgent activity". The families of the British victims have been informed, the Mo D said. They have asked for a period of grace before their names are released.
British diplomat summoned by Russia over 'inaccurate' reports
Newspapers said RAF Tornados in Iraq had been fitted with heat-seeking missiles designed for aerial combat. The Foreign Office said the reports, over the weekend, had been inaccurate. The attache reiterated Britain's concerns about Russian military operations in Syria, a spokesman said.
On Ferry Pilots: The pilots who risk their lives flying tiny planes over the Atlantic
Keep Rolling OnI know they've got Su-34s and Su-25s but I'm not sure about Mi G-29s.
Could they be leftovers from Assad?
Oh really when? The Russians don't have any Mi G-29s deployed to Syria, so if these claims have a grain of truth to them it's probably a Syrian bird. How forthcoming are they when they lose one?
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotAt this rate kicking Turkey out of NATO would be the best thing for everyone.
Seriously, Turkey is being the shittiest ally in the history of the organization.
Inter arma enim silent legesPartition it between Greece and Kurdistan.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiAn invitation for Genocide if there ever was one.
If the Turks are the "shittiest ally" when it comes to NATO, then how does Greece — a country that has actually had a shooting conflict with Turkey when both were in NATO — stack up?
Keep Rolling OnThey deserve each other.
But Greece isn't hellbent on undermining NATO efforts on the region for the sake of screwing with separatists groups.

Inter arma enim silent legesNah, they just burn all he money, and there are multiple ways to hurt politics.
Greece is just dumb, Turkey is actively abusing it's membership to continue it's pet genocide projects.
Really one day we just need to leave the Turks out to dry and then let Kurdistan be our buffer with Russia.
Oh really when?Actually, what are the requirements for NATO membership?
Greece and Turkey joined joined NATO on the 18th February 1952, before West Germany, and were the first members after the twelve founders to join NATO.
At that point, their ability to counteract the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact was a greater concern. Indeed, even now, NATO's entry criteria is rather loose.

Keep Rolling OnI wonder if this entire exercise is an excuse to properly field test some of their stuff.
Would certainly explain those missile duds from before.
Oh really when?US Army receives first upgraded PAC-3 MSE interceptors from Lockheed
Lockheed Martin has handed over the first upgraded Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors to the US Army.
The new interceptors feature improved mobility and range and are expected to significantly upgrade the army's missile defence capabilities, as well as defending against evolving threats worldwide,
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control PAC-3 programmes vice-president Scott Arnold said: "We are proud to deliver these interceptors to the US Army and are confident the men and women of the armed forces can count on the PAC-3 MSE when it matters most.
Neat. Any word when PAC-4 will hit?
Who watches the watchmen?Raytheon is still shilling it. They have Patriot Advanced Affordable Capability-4 (PAAC-4) that uses David's Sling interceptors with Track-Via-Missile, mulit-mode seeker and Hit To Kill.
And with it comes a launcher that can load a mix of missiles.
Before the launcher was only PAC-3 or PAC-3. And PAC-3 LS units could only mount one type: 8-16 PAC-3 or 4 PAC-2.
Ratheon wants to make a launcher that can carry a mix of missiles. Mostly to leverage the advances in computing. The PAC-3 (also called and ELS launcher) is expensive compared to the PAC-2 so most firing batteries/squadrons only have 2 PAC-3 launchers.
With PAAC-4, all launchers could fire a mix of missiles.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Go figure. I also saw they were considering all missile replacement in PAAC-3 launchers with Stunner over some of the Single Stage PAAC-3 missiles. Could be mutual foot dragging.
Who watches the watchmen? This is going to put a nice twist on lighter than air aircraft.
Inter arma enim silent legesDoes The US Navy Need A 21st Century F-14 Tomcat? (War Is Boring)
Answer: Possibly.
Do us touchy-feely, let's all sing kumbaya and pass round the peace pipe military types in the West still chuck flechette rocket rounds at people? I know the Apache is fitted FOR the capability via the Hydra rockets but I'm not sure if they are fitted WITH. You know, since that Ottawa thingy that banned land mines and other nasties and did dick all to stop the ever growing IED threat.
Or force Russia into NATO.
