With Barney bringing down GNB, what's going to happen to the very building Ted designed?

That topic will be looked at in detail over the next two seasons.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursThe main thing is that Barney's behavior, Mood Whiplash it may be, is not exactly Out of Character. It's just taken to the logical, and rather pathetic, conclusion; something that is brought up in the show itself several times. Spending so many years doing borderline criminal/misogynistic actions (just in his personal life) and to come out unscathed would have been an interesting end of his story.
As for GNB, remember that it is a subsidiary company for Barney's actual employer, Altrucell, and it's THAT company that came under investigation. It's possible GNB was bought out by another MegaCorp or that Altrucell survived the FBI investigation even though many execs were arrested.
Ted visits it with his daughter, so it's still around.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the linethat scene was adorable. Especially since Ted's architecture passion seems to be in the blood for Penny.
"You can reply to this Message!"x5: Nothing would happen to the building. If GNB went away, or moved out of NYC, some other company would be in it. Happens all the time.
CBS uses it to house all the complaint letters about the finale.
"You can reply to this Message!"They'll need the room. On an unrelated note, anyone have some paper they could lend me? I seem to have run out.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I was very surprised it still had the big GNB logo still. But I suppose the explanation that Altrucell is the one that went down, not GNB works for me.

An interesting little video about the finale.
I have a feeling he never watched the show. People didn't dislike Ted/Robin because it was "eww" it was because the show had devoted a lot of time to showing why they didn't work.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Most likely, the show's shtick is to use pop-culture as a jumping off point for discussion of more intellectual issues.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.True, but I wish he'd done some more research on WHY the fans hated the finale.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.In regards to the finale, would what we were treated to pertained to how the show would have ended Victoria being the Mother had the show only lasted 1 season, and that Bay and Thomas used what they made for the intended ending just to rush things?
I'm sorry, what?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. He's asking if we would still have gotten the same ending if Victoria had been the Mother.
Probably not. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't until season two that they shot that footage, and I don't think they had this ending in mind until they made that move.
And I think I discovered a tiny, almost untraceable bit of foreshadowing for Barney's hiccup in the ending. When he was talking to his dad and admitting that he wanted what Jerry had, Jerry's hint to him was that he had to find the right "girl." Not woman, not chick, not any other term that would be applied mainly to an adult. Girl. It's a long shot, I know, but at that point they were fully aware of the ending they were going for. Just about anything could be suspected of foreshadowing now.
And yes, I know, Loretta's statement about Barney wanting kids is probably a far better example of this than Jerry's one word, but hey, I thought of it so I shared it.
Still, wouldn't it seem that Bay and Thomas got editorial mandates enforced upon them just to appease the hype in regards to ending the series?

If you're talking in reference to Victoria, she was to be the Mother if the show never got past the first 13 episode pick-up. It's not an executive mandate but just the realities of TV production, you live and die according to the episode order. I think that means "Drumroll, Please" would have been the finale, considering how popular that episode was (and how beloved Victoria is) it would have been a solid conclusion.
But once they got past that initial hurdle, they had to work out a flexible but meaningful Myth Arc to make sure Ted follows a certain path. The finale footage of the kids was shot in the second season, which means this basic story was something they had planned out for a long time, possibly even with Victoria.
So no, I don't really see Executive Meddling involved with how the finale turned out. I just see it as a ball being dropped when it comes to reconciling a 7 year old plan with a continually evolving show.
I wonder if they could have re-dubbed the kids lines to change the plot.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Possibly, but I think that the kids could have easily been cut out. Their reactions haven't meant a damn thing for a loooong time.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Wasn't it always the same shot anyway, that they used four or five times over the course of the series? That's how it seemed to me, anyway.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineI think there are two versions of what the kids were wearing. In the pilot, Penny was wearing a greyish sweater and Luke was wearing a black shirt. In the rest of the series, Penny is wearing a pink shirt and Luke has a grey hoodie over a green shirt.
And actually their poses do change somewhat, like whether their legs are crossed, which way they're leaning and so on. And I think there's at least two version of the "WHAT!?" shot.

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly.Finale Reaction video by two fans They make some good points.

Maybe he was upset about it because it meant forgoing a chance with Robin? That sounds wildly out of character, though, so I guess just an inconsistency in the story is most likely.
That's amazing. Makes up for the fact that it's the first Monday since the show ended .
And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know.
