I remember wondering if chain fusion would only be a potara thing, because what happens when a chain fusion that involves the Fusion Dance wears off?

"Okay, so next, Yamiengotenkriliccolohan should fuse with - aw, jeez, Yamcha just popped back out. Man, 30 minutes really flies. How you feeling, Tigotenkriliccolohan?"

"Significantly stronger."

This may sound inconceivable, but I'm going to try to rewrite and plan the entire Dragon Ball franchise into one, possibly long, readable text. Something akin to Tolkien's works. Just about everything, including movies, GT and games with original stories will be rewritten and reconfigured for this text.

Here's an outline on how everything will be settled.

I have to say, Towa's motivations are more than a little stupid. Wanting revenge for Dabura's death? The heroes weren't even the ones who killed him! Fat Buu was the one responsible for that.

Fat Buu's one of the heroes now.

I still maintain that Dabura getting set to heaven and becoming a Love Freak was one of the best things filler could possibly add. If only 16 was there too :(.

On that note, it would be nice to have a cyborg class in a DBZ game.

One that bugs me about Time-Trunks' dialogue: The fuck do you mean "we"? Dumplin's doing all the work!

King Vegeta's such an interesting character. Wish they'd do more with him instead of fellating Bardock.

I think my post explained it clear enough? Kid Goku was popular, and had been gone from the series for years. Goten was the return of Kid Goku, essentially. And then GT did it later, except badly.

Steven Universe is pretty good. You should watch it. There's also more than a few references to Dragonball. I like Clarence better though, as far as new CN shows are concerned.

Never ever for never ever trust the Dragonball wiki unless they use a reputable source. Use Kanzenshu.

Though I wouldn't put it past Toriyama to say something like that since he keeps screwing with us changing things.

Yes, I understand that. But would making Goten (or Trunks, for that matter) a girl from beginning have hurt the series popularity? As in, caused people to stop reading/watching? Would it have had a negative effect, is what I'm saying.

But really, I'm not really interested in popularity, I'm interested if it would have affected the story.

I dunno. I think the thing to keep in mind with Gotenks was he was created the soften the blow of Goku, at the time, being written out of the series.

I mean yeah though, you could gender flip Goten and almost nothing would change concerning the story.

The thing is without popularity the series wouldn't be around. At various points in Dragonball's run, Toriyama made decisions exclusively because of popularity. That's where the World Martial Arts Tournaments and Power Levels came from, for example.

I know, but I'm still more interested in the consequences from a narrative perspective.

Would it have harmed Dragonball's popularity, though? That's the question I'm asking in that regard.

If it makes you guys feel better, I'll try to fit a SSJ Pan in my Dragon Ball rewrite.

I was just thinking of the 2nd (abridged) Cooler movie. Was "hit him really hard" something that Goku would actually say? He himself didn't say it until Vegeta puts the words in his mouth and I can think of situations in which he considered the opposite of hitting something really hard (e.g. attempting to reason with the Christmas Tree of Might).
