Though I like the joke with Chi Chi wanting another baby, sex jokes about Goku always leave an awkward taste in my mouth because the thought of this Goku having sex seems more like sexual assualt than sex with an adult fit to consent.

Possibly not, since he was much closer to her in strength then than now. However, we know that they have had some sort of sex life since, considering Chi Chi's "special mouth present" at Christmas.
Also, he might have some idea of what sex is, since he didn't want Christmas getting raped.

Like any other part of the Cell Saga that claims ostensible connections to events from earlier in Dragon Ball, the Room of Spirit and Time is a completely new plot device masquerading as a Call-Back, and does not actually make any sense for it to have existed at the point in continuity to which it claims to reference.
But don't let that stop you from enjoying the fruits of Dr. Gero's dedication to avenging Commander Red's shortness.

I mean, apparently nobody else knew what Commander Red was planning on wishing for.
Well now we know that Android 16 was modeled after Gero's son and his son died while working for the Red Ribbon Army, so that gives Gero plenty of reason to want Goku dead. Plus Gero made most of the Army's tech so at the very least he lost his job when Goku wiped out the RRA.
The Room comment wasn't trying to make it a call back but simply adding more information about it. We know Goku spent three years at the lookout that was off-screen so adding a trip to the Room fits and gives Goku the knowledge needed to think of using it and introduce it to everyone.
It'd be one thing if it were added at a previouz point where we were following Goku on-screen, but it'd only take up roughly 2 hours of a 3 year period we saw nothing of.
It also serves to explain why it wasn't used before, Goku couldn't handle it. Although the limited usage allowed and the fact that they had more time available in previous arcs does a better job justifying its disuse.

The Room wasn't that hard to slip into the series, since there's three whole years where we never see exactly how Goku is training.

Tien vs. Super Buu. With Gotenks and Piccolo absorbed. Or, technically, just Gotenks absorbed gameplay-wise, what with the way I remember the Budokai games working.
So based on this wiku guide thing that explains how the stats in Dragon Universe mode actually work, Kaiser's not made the wisest choices with that Tien playthrough.

So that means that, if my calculations are correst, which they're usually not, but still, then the next episode will be Piccolo VS 17 and will end with Cell's arrival. The episode after that will be Cell VS 17 and 16 and with him absorbing 17, probably ending the episode with Semi Perfect Cell grinning.
Which means only more episodes of Imperfect Cell. I'll miss him when he's gone, but until then I'll treasure his awesomeness.
