The Transformers Roleplay--Discussion Datatrax

That's right, fellow tropers—a Transformers RP, with a tone similar to War for Cybertron! There will be many battles between Autobots and Decepticons, and/or Maximals and Predacons, in addition to instances where the transformers actually have to disguise themselves amongst the populace of whatever worlds they do battle on.

The Great War is in full swing; Autobots battle Decepticons across the length and breadth of the galaxy. The Ark has not yet reached that strange planet called Earth, so humans have yet to encounter Cybertronians; in other words, there will be an element of First Contact should the transformers actually reach Earth in this game.

Cybertron itself is not a pleasant place to be right now; the War's constant destruction and depletion of its Energon reserves have left the Transformers' homeworld on the brink of annihilation. Under the command of Sentinel Prime, the planet has been evacuated; only a handful of dedicated scientists remain, attempting to repair the grievous damage done to their homeworld.

Optimus himself has yet to attain the rank of Prime; he and his men battle against the Decepticon menace on the front lines, placing him far from the Autobots' central command hub.

Finally, strange reports have reached the ears of both Sentinel Prime and his opposite number, Megatron; garbled transmissions from the galaxy's spiral arms, telling of entire worlds disappearing, consumed by something or someone before going silent...

These are the details that I've ironed out thus far; the rest shall be a collaborative effort, as they say.

Hah! You forgot one detail in the opening of this thread.

Anyway, Any possibility for a third faction amongst the Cybertronians? Ones who want nothing to do with either?

Also, what of the Vok and Quintessons?

There are indeed neutral Cybertronians, though for the most part they are few in number; the Great War has a tendency to make those sitting on the fence pick a side. That said, the Neutrals tend to congregate in the area of space known as the Hub, under the benevolent rulership of Jhiaxus.

The Quintessons will indeed appear, don't you worry; they may have had a hand in the Transformers' creation, or they may simply be lying liers who lie. Additionally, there will also be Maximals and Predacons involved, though they are smaller and fewer in number than their Autobot brethren; the Predacons' nominal leader is Razorclaw, while the Maximals defer to Sentinel Prime for the most part.

And I shall add the music now, to account for this grievous oversight on my part. In the meantime, enjoy getting "The Touch!"

Question: Is Soundwave Megatron's second, or Shockwave?

They're more his Co-Dragons, really; that said, Soundwave has slightly more clout with the leader of the Decepticons than Shockwave does.

He looks good, as far as I'm concerned. it just took a while to reply as I was incorporating my response into my own entry—Temblor!

It makes him come across as somewhat of a Punch-Clock Villain who nevertheless enjoys toying with his enemies before killing them. Interesting...

If you're going to play in this one, Strigon, you sure as hell better play fair. When you make your character, that is the sum-all of his powers and abilities; I'm not having a repeat of that godawful fight with the Noise Marines.

Furthermore, you are controlling one character; the only opportunity you'll have to switch is if the character dies.

I'm curious...

One thing I must know before I jump in though is whether an Autobot may be a ruthless hunter and combat pragmatist. I've already laid out most of my character here, for reference.

It is possible; though they have made their choices on who to serve, the Autobots and Decepticons are not uniformly of the same personality. There is plenty of leeway in that regard.

Ah, good. So I can have someone similar to Sev.

Okay, I'm good. Still need to come up with a name, though.

Alrighty then, Just a highly eccentric and childish Decepticon scout/spotter Helicopter who flees in terror at the first signs of danger. And his serious, silent and frighteningly competent sniper-rifle wielding Artillery truck partner who constantly Snarks at and criticizes his allies.
