This Wednesday (October 19th) they will have an AI Only live stream of the final version of the game.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureAI only?
They have that much faith in the AI that they'll run the stream?
They are calling it an AI Battle Royale
The 8 Civilizations in the Battle Royale are:
- Aztecs
- Brazil
- England
- Greece (Gorgo)
- Japan
- Rome
- Russia
- Spain

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureCiv Battle Royales can be extremely fun.
Also it serves to show the new "observer mod" in the game. In V, a Battle Royale required the observer to place a single unit (usually a submarine) of another civ to be able to watch the game.
Anyone else hoping the Gorgo and Monty wind up being neighbours? Because that promises to be fun (at least for us).
An AI battle. Didn't someone did the same thing in Civ 5 that it crashed the game because the AI made too many choices for the game to handle?
If you don't put the AI on a high level it shouldn't be an issue. In V a Deity AI could carpet its territory with units, which led to computing issues.
Edit: I preordered the Deluxe edition. Who will be the first three civs you will try out? Mine will probably be France (for nationalistic reasons, I admit), Scythian and Rome.

I'm probably going to try Rome and China for their infrastructure benefits (not needing to make roads and builders having more charges). Beyond that... not sure. My inner otaku wants to play as Japan while I also want to play as Gil because of his awesome description from the mods. England's also a possibility because even if I'm not very war focused it's nice being able to rule the seas.
Rome is very popular for the preview players, but i do not think anyone is using them even remotely right - The fact that their internal tradeposts boost income, means they're the strongest economy civ, but nobody is spamming commerce districts and trade routes. In fact, nobody seems to be doing anywhere near enough trade, which is kind of odd, as having roads down is a massive strategic mobility boost. ...I'm also wondering why noone is cheesing scouts to ambush via the double xp policy and barb fighting - Greece, Germany, America should all find that quite viable

Rome and Russia are definitely gonna be first picks for me, though Kongo is also looking pretty nice.
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertI know Quill 18 said his play style didn't suit Rome because he is still in the Civilization V mindset where science buildings were key to winning.
In Civilization VI it is better to focus on each district evenly.
If you focus on science you would be too far ahead in technology.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'll probably follow my normal 'new Civ game' method - first game is America on the easiest setting, then random nations moving up until I hit the level of difficulty I want. That followed by working through most of the civs in no particular order.
The uncanny valley is in full effect with the girl, eyes aren't meant to look like that!

New theme music also a boxThe music reminded me of How to train your dragon.
Did the narrator just die in a dog fight?
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Well he is Sean Bean.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThey found a way to kill Sean Bean even though he's just a voice? There's no way that's not intentional.
Oh, he's not just a voice here; he's the POV character for all the era switches, and in the Modern Era, he's cockpit-sniped scoring a kill on a bomber, with a Fatal Family Photo transition to his daughter manning the Mars colony rocket.
I do wonder if he's got a contractual clause saying he has to die in everything he's cast in, or if it's just a Running Gag.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"He didn't die in the Silent Hill movie
In Silent Hill everybody is dead all along.

The Martian, the Sharpe Series, Jupiter Ascending, Troy and.... I think it was Ronin. He survived all of those.
He did commit career suicide in The Martian though.
The Martian wasn't that bad,was it?
