I like it when you die quickly after making a wrong choice. Unlike some VNs where you have to go back and replay entire paths from scratch. (Animamundi Dark Alchemist is particularly bad in this regard because choices in the very first scene influence what ending you get, so you have to replay the entire thing from the beginning to get different endings.)
Personally, I usually do one playthrough blind, just to experience the game and get a sense of the characters, and then after that I refer to walkthroughs with the aim of getting 100% completion.

Just wondering
I played it and liked it a fair bit. The art and music are very good and if nothing else it has a measure of ambition. It is though, going to be pretty dependant on your temperament whether you cry like a little bitch or balk at some of the narm and anvils. There's also a lot of smut scenes for the length, but they're more justified in context than some. Aeka and Nekkoko's routes are straightforward, but you may need a walkthrough to get Mizuki's good end, as its one of those ones where choices made midway through can block you off without any indication of having done so.

Finished Ef. Got me a bit emotional during times, and it's a good VN, but not at a Tear Jerker level.
I was miffed that there were no extras though T_T. Such beautiful character models and not a single way to see them without having to go through the game.

I'm on the Chihiro chapter of ef. :D I've been looking forward to it a ton. But I really did enjoy Kei's chapter, which was severely gutted for the anime version. and I totally enjoy the ero scenes! hehe.
I hope NNL will someday release a more complete version :3 I do miss being able to view C Gs and stuff.

In Ef, for some reason I really enjoyed The Reveal at the end about the two towns It almost made me fall out of my chair, even though in retrospect, it was the only logical explanation, and there were quite a few hints.

Some of the rhythms towards the beginning are off, but the notes are all right.
And as a side note, you should glissando most of the chords. My sheet music stuff kept breaking when I tried adding the glissando, for whatever reason, so I left it out :P

Ever 17 if you can get your hands on it.
I played it without a walkthrough. I died... regularly I guess but I never had any trouble loading and continuing on. Heck, the death scenes are pretty interesting in their own right. I can't say how long it took me for the entire game since I did each route one at a time as they were translated, but it took me about a weekend for each route.
