Action wise, this chapter was a set up for the next chapter. What DID happen was a justified Talking Is a Free Action for some character development.

I am gonna do that kinda thing more often.

And it looks like Miria is trying to out think Hysteria, with her falling for it. I love how Miria is a Guile Hero, always thinking on her feet.

Any one find Hysteria's new method of "flying" disturbingly reminiscent of tap-dancing?

Well, this chapter verified that the Abyssals really are on a league of their own...it's interesting to see a series where the power gap between the heroes and the final bosses never quite seems to close up (except for Clare's merging with the Destroyer, which is kind of cheating). (And Priscilla is even more broken than the Abyssals. Oh come on.)

new tactic, but Claymore flirt with Narm here. On the other hand, it's nice to see heros use their brain rather than the old routine of I got to be stronger so I am now. Also rare to see that the villain are the one who are not left hand.

Is it the real one this time? I saw one earlier that was a joke translation.

It seems real. There battle analysis, and it's not very funny.

The joke translation was not very funny, ether. Just a bunch of lame comments/lines that relied on the fact they were "dirty." They did not even match the images very well (if at all).

It was pathetic and I could only read a couple of pages. You would think that even joke translations would have standards.

It seemed rather legit. I liked the chapter and I didn't find the ending to be narmy at all.

Yeah, it's a good thing that the heroes actually try to win with their brains against an overwhelmingly powerful opponent.

Meanwhile, Clare is still stuck in that meat-sack with Priscilla.

And two other people with a mass of yoki.

I can't wait for that thing to sense the new Abysmal Ones and for more of all hell to break loose.

I really enjoyed this chapter. I'm really liking this battle, even if it's been going on for a long time.

So that was Miria's plan to escape from the mess after dragging Hysteria into the middle of it? I have to say, I wasn't expecting it (at least, not the specifics of how she planned to achieve that). Nicely done. (...How's she going to handle the landing though?)

Still, these three new Abyssals seem to lack a little in comparison with Luciela/Isley/Riful. Maybe it's that they've had less characterization time or something; but I find them to be less interesting in combat too.

(Also, conservation of momentum pops up again? The author may be thinking too much about this.)

(And Cassandra is still oddly cute.)

Well... they were originally dead and practicaly forced to awaken. I would think that that would mean they are not as stable and don't have quite as much power as they would have had if they had awakened "normally." Hmm... I would think that the "dust eater" would nromally have had a smaller and more manuverable/flexable body, the coppy-cat would have a more changeable body (and would be harder to sense/predict—remember, she could hide her presence from her "target"), and the fast one would be able to re-grow those "anchors" much better.

Well instead of curb stomping people they are fighting their equals on screen. We never really got to see the previous generation go all out on screen. They either died on screen or we saw the aftermath of their battle.

Could also be that they're newly awakened and didn't have centuries to hone their abilities or fighting techniques.

Oh, I'm not really complaining about the quality of their fighting ability. I'm just saying that their..."special abilities", you might say, are less interesting. I rather liked Luciela's mouth-spawning and Isley's weapon-of-choice abilities (and his awakened form is still the best so far). Riful's ability is a bit less interesting admittedly; but she gets enough characterization (in the purely villainous sense) to make up for it.

So, I've read up to the end of volume seven now.

End of volume 7 (AKA:chapter 39) is Ophelia... Not quite sure what you are talking about.

Maybe he's referring to the bit earlier, where Miria/Helen/Deneve/Clare met for the first time and fought that awakened being.

Also yeah, that bit was pretty brutal.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I read volumes 5-7 recently.
