I think this episode better explained why Rigby didn't like Don.
Last nights episodes, pretty obvious whole plot reference to The Breakfast Club much like that "Gamer Never Say Die" episode is to The Goonies (but with a Nintendo Hard Atari game involved).
I actually enjoy it for utilizing the movie's plot to enhance on Rigby and Benson character. The ending with the letter was funny where Mallard couldn't even read the condensending message behind only to have his son Pops (who doesn't want his friends fired) read it and lie about what it said.
Yeah I did enjoy the tributes to The Breakfast Club, and the ways they turned it on its head.
Local News Legend just aired. I liked it. I was worried that it would be another dumb romance episode, but nope, it was a Day in the Limelight for Margaret. And a damn good one with Terminator references too. 9/10 (only because of that damn catchphrase).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?... they do not give up on characters who were Put on a Bus, do they??? Margaret even felt like a full character rather than a love interest.
FINALLY Margaret gets an episode where she's a real character whose role is more than love interest.
All i cared about was seeing CJ not even give two fucks and turn to a sharknado movie!. I really want to see her again. And if the break-up is eternal, at least they should do with her what they just did with Margaret.
"We be we baby!"-_- CJ was my favorite character but apparently the writers don't agree with me.
Same about really enjoying her. I still find her better than Margaret as a character, but that's just me. Margaret just bores me, even in her spotlight episodes.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Same here on the CJ thing. She's a lot more fun than Margaret, even if less stable.
Scrappy? No way!

H.B. WardJust saw the episode, and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot for two reasons:
- Its A Day in the Limelight episode for Margeret that isn't focused on that annoying romance subplot. Really shows the writers in this season aren't going to focus on romance this season.
- It is one of the few episodes as of recently that follows the shows classic formula where the third act is where shit gets crazy. I mean seriously, a Terminator parody? I was expecting Nightcrawler or Network.
On that whole third act plot twist since Jackie is a T-1000 from the future sent back to destroy local news, does that mean her behavior in wanting to ride in 1000 Chopter ride back in said episode means she planned on killing Frank as an attempt at securing the future she is from? That episode is bad enough that it would led to eventual break up of Mordecai and CJ, now I have to live with the thought that Margeret and her parents were that close to getting killed by a Terminator (even though they were close to getting killed by a anthropomorphic cloud).
I do find the moment in the episode where Mordecai and Margeret texted each other emoji hilarious. How did Mordecai manage to create a text of his entire facial expression in such a short amount of time? Mordecai is some serious texter.
That missile? Holy shit man, that's a bit excessive!
AND THAT'S WHY I LAUGHED SO MUCH AT THAT PART. OOOMG.
H.B. WardA day in the Spotlight for Benson: The special.
love how Benson rocked that Rambo look!
"We be we baby!"I'm not saying what Maellard did was morally right in ANY way but...Benson's hair DID grow back. Whatever that dome was pumping must've been good for his scalp.
Pretty good special that is a good parody to that Implicit Prison trope. But seriously, Benson is suspicious of all over an e-mail forgery and not the fact they are trap in a dome? Took a Level in Dumbass? Nah, he is always the task oriented type-A personality type; it as rational for him to freak out like the way Pearl freaks out in that Uncle Grandpa episode.
So Benson and Rigby are just back at their jobs? I guess that kinda makes sense, but I thought it would show something on screen about them finding out in bad time that their jobs were actually secure.
I actually thought Lunch Club was a Wham Episode. I was looking forward to seeing some kind of consequence from it.
H.B. WardI love how the missile did absolutely no damage to the van.
The scene with Pops lying about the letter made it very clear things were going to back to normal. I'm not really sure how you could have missed that.
Okay, somehow I just saw the Regular Show movie ahead of schedule and is debating whether or not I should post spoilers for the movie right now.
Part of me want to but for the sake of not wanting to ruin anybody's movie experience I don't want to.
"Birthday Gift" was pretty good. More of a small-scale ep after last week's epic 30 minute special, but still enjoyable (i like all the video-game based episodes), and i liked how after all that, Cake Quest ended up being the worlds simplest game. Now here's where it gets odd, the 6:45 rerun half was "Dumped at the Altar", but the credits were for "Local News Legend". Wonder why they pulled LNL at the last minute.
Also, new short (actually, a music video):

Aww, I thought this was gonna be a body swap episode, not an amnesia episode.
Not gonna lie, I legit thought they were gonna die this ep. Anyway, a sweet episode.
Edit: Also finally saw that "Fun-Run" short, only Regular Show can pull off making a music video for a song from over thirty years ago.

While episodes like "The Parkie Awards" and "The Lunch Club" were heartwarming and endearing enough - I'm still waiting for this show to legitimately make me laugh again, to be honest. However, it's good that this show still remembers how to be heartwarming and endearing (without the romantic tumor BS getting in the way!), so don't get me wrong.
