I haven't read SZS. Now I will, with that in mind.
"I'M IN DESPAIR! THE GRATUITOUS FANSERVICE HAS LEFT ME IN DESPAIR!"
I really hope SHAFT is planning to animate more of SZS. I tried the manga, which is good, but I miss the added visual oomph in the anime.
...Damn. Now I have to go read more SZS.
Starting to read this. Three chapters in and I'm already bored with Haruna. Good news for me, eh?
Haruna gets less focus over time, starting from the point when, in real life, the artist discovers his wife's affair (because Haruna's based on her).
Exactly. Good thing she's not that interesting and I don't like her!
That's a fairly common reaction to her, TBQH. I'm just indifferent.

...Just realized that Rito looks way too much like Nagi Springfield, only rounder.
I suppose I don't actually dislike Haruna yet, but she hasn't really done anything in fifteen chapters. The story has pretty much been 'Lala does stuff, Rito fixes it, Haruna watches/gets roped in.' Entertaining, but she's not really very endearing as of yet.
Yeah, this is why they needed to change it up with Yui/Oshizu/Run/Ren/Momo/Nana/Celine/Yami/Mikan as time went by.
The plot barely goes anywhere at all until Darkness.

Saki's minions look kind of like Konoka and Setsuna, only the latter doesn't have her hair in that stupid spiky shape.
TLR had no plot. It's more like Slice of Life.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundThere was indeed a plot. It just moved so slowly that it was inconsequential for the majority of the story, short of setting up the setting.
Okay, Lala's father showed up and the girl that I assume is Yui as well.
It's strange, but I'm pretty much completely indifferent to the fanservice. It's just sort of there.
Does the girl say 'How Shameless' a lot?

The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundShe's certainly thinking it. Also, people are calling her Yui after I got past the end of that chapter. Bit of a big hint there.

Yes, that's Yui alright. It's her Catchphrase.

The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundThe Fanservice never bother me before Darkness. It's there that I keep dreaming of a girl breaking the fourth wall to say :
My eyes are up there, and not in my panties.
I guess I'm at the point where Yui starts taking over Haruna's role. Haruna never really got as much spotlight or development as Lala.
Haruna is about the embodiment of my dislike for her character type. While those Shrinking Violets can be done well, like any character archetype, she's certainly not one of them.
Yui, on the other hand, is one of the better Tsunderes. That has largely to do with the small fact that she actually realises Rito isn't a pervert deliberately. Of course, her genre savviness backfires. Unfortunately, I think that trait gets overshadowed by her quick reactions later on, though I may misremember.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. So the man eating plant turned into an aphrodisiac spewing loli. Okay, sure, why not. Just please tell me she doesn't become a haremette.
She doesn't, she's used more as a plot device.
Mau!
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundLoved your Pot Hole. It is exactly my reaction to many bizarre shit I randomly see anywhere.
I demand for an impossible to pull off SZS-TLR crossover now.
