They didn't even say any other reason why it's good. It was just REALISM=AWESOME in a nutshell for them.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987OK, that is sad.
Sounds like it's being misconstrued, tbh.
I thought the game looked like shit myself.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table~Yeah, it does look like a monstrous piece of shit, and it's fandom is baffling.
Kill all math nerdsReview of Scott Pilgrim and this may be a stupid question, but why isn't he like this all the time? I actually enjoyed this calm and intelligent break down of the film. No yelling, exaggerated anger, or death threats to vague caricatures of morons, just a good natured analysis.
When All Else Fails, you have fun and flirt wit da ladies, dats da Drawings way!^ I suspect it's because the movie didn't, you know, majorly piss him off.
(Personally, I'm surprised he liked it. I mean, I like it, but it's a pretty polarizing movie and Spoony seems like the type that suffers hipsters poorly *)

^^ I personally think that his out-of-character vlogs are some of his best work.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxBoth the Twilight v-logs are magnificent. The non-scripted nature actually adds to them, because Spoony's struggling for words and repeating himself just emphasises how utterly baffling he finds them both.
The man was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the best at both killing and not killing - StrangerI like the vlog review pretty OK, but that's not how I want to see a review. There's a reson most reviews are scripted and edited, sometimes you just want the gist of it, and the sweet bits at the lenghth of a few avarage pop songs.
For example, Zero Punctuation is my favourite online reviewer, not only for the wit, but also because of how much info and humour he can cram into some five minutes.
I prefer the v-log format... it feels more like a real person is talking to me. I like that, it makes me feel some sort of personal connection to the reviewer... instead of watching someone try to be funny.
@Esteban Seriously dude, you have some interesting opinions, but cool down on the ellipses.
Kill all math nerdsThis ChibiSoma person in Spoony's tweet-bar (don't know it's official name) sounds like a rather unpleasant person. I'd like to see Spoony's thoughts about him/her, but I doubt he'll pay any further attention to the matter.
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...Spoony is Quote Mining. It isn't that bad if you read it in context whether you agree with the point raised or not. I really don't like reading twitter feeds, the character restriction makes everyone sound like an ass and/or complete retard. Spoony included.
Reading his/her previous tweets, it sounds like s/he's taken offense to Spoony's ban-happy ways and his apparent ego. I don't know how accurate these claims are, but if they're true, then I'm on Soma's side. Either way, s/he didn't need to go into name-calling and insults, though there might be an excuse with this quote right before tweeting Spoony:

Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...@Esteban: Yes, but sometimes I feel like just getting the facts and the funny in a ten minutes or so, usually in the morning before I go to work. A near hour long vlog can be entertaining, but it kinda distracts from everything else I want to do.
Ultima 4 is up.
The man was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the best at both killing and not killing - StrangerIs it just me, or was the audio on the Ultima 4 review really low quality at first? I viewed it yesterday, and the audio quality was terrible, but I viewed it again today, and the audio quality was just fine.
"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"^From his twitter:

The Philosopher-King ParadoxAccording to his Twitter feed, people who don't like It Came From Beyond Midnight and/or wish his site had less stuff that wasn't his on it are "whiners", and that the Beyond Midnight guys matter more than they do.
He blocked me for pointing out that less than a month or so ago, his girlfriend / IT person put a post on his Facebook page asking viewers to disable stuff like Adblock for his videos, so as to help support the site.
It sucks because I enjoy Spoony (as others have said, I really dig his Wrestle Wrestle stuff and vlogs), but christ on a cracker, he can really flip out when people react negatively to his work, more than anyone else on TGWTG. Personally, for every genuine troll on his site I've seen, there's dozens of people who just dislike something.

I've never understood the hate for It Came From Beyond Midnight. I don't watch it, but from what I've gathered, Spoony's contribution beyond hosting it and making a few cameos is quite small; it's not like it prevents him from working on other stuff.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxThe only problem with It Came From Beyond Midnight is that it pushes Spoony's regular stuff off of the front pages.
The man was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the best at both killing and not killing - StrangerWhich is exactly why the "fans" are being idiotic here: their mild convenience is more important than letting people who actually want to see the videos watch them.
I officially understand one of the problems Spoony is going through. He has fans, he also has people that want him to improve. However, the people that want him to improve convey their criticism in absolutely dickish and mean-spirited ways. It seems like the people doing that don't understand what they're doing is mean.
I've run into a person that reads my blog that won't stop being an asshole. He yells at everyone, he's a complete dick, and he overuses Insane Troll Logic. Turns out he's only doing it so I can improve. Now I see why Spoony has trouble communicating with his fans.
Wait, what? What makes you sad? That they try to qualify their enjoyment with pseudo-objective terms or the fact that they have fun with something you don't approve? Because in the latter case, I'm sure there is something in the DSM IV about that.
Thats what I don't get about Fan Haters. If they have fun while you spend your time being upset about that, they've won. Doesn't mean that makes it a good game, bouncing a ball off the wall continuously can be fun as well. The game deserved to be panned, the developers deserve to be panned, people justifying having fun with the game using Insane Troll Logic deserve to be panned. But fans in general? Why?
