From the interview with Mark Region:

Region: After you’ve seen it, you know the whole plot. It’s all in there. It’s very logical. I wanted to make the movie as realistic and logical as possible, it’s just in the way it’s presented. The way it’s presented it will produce some kind of thrilling or disturbing reaction. But it’s very logical and it’s all in there.

Filmmaker: Some people still seem confused by it, though.

Region: Those people haven’t seen the movie — they have just seen the trailer. We didn’t have time to shoot other footage to add to the trailer – we only took bits and pieces from the movie. But people who have seen the movie are amazed.

Lol...

God, I really hope their DVD release is selling burned DVD-Rs over the Internet. I've seen better sets and actors in kindergarten Christmas plays. And no, that isn't hyperbole.

I think there should be a reform of copyright law so that if a work falls below a certain level of quality, you instantly lose copyright over it. In fact, I think charging money to let people watch a film that terrible should be considered fraud.

I love Spoony but he seems to be running himself into the ground lately.

Seriously, what's up with all this Beyond Midnight stuff? Maybe occasionally featuring a guest video is a good idea but this stuff's barely got anything to do with Spoony and it's just cluttering up the page. I probably speak for a lot of other viewers when I say that I don't care much for wrestling stuff either.

I'm amazed at what a big deal this Deadliest Warrior controversy is. The response video seems to have what is by far the greatest number of comments of any of his videos, ever. What the heck? Does this silly game really have that many disgruntled fans? I just wish everything would calm down again.

I'm sure things'll get back to normal once the next part of the Final Fantasy X review comes out.

I don't care about wrestling but strangly enough, his wrestling vlogs are more entertaining then most of the other stuff he has been putting out recently.

I'm a bit concerned about him to be honest. He always struck me as someone with ADD in the way he erratically switches from one project to another. Now he has over a dozen unfinished things going on side by side and for some reason he doesn't really seem to enjoy either of them. Add his financial dependency on his site in the mix and you have a recipe for disaster with him crashing and burning right there.

He's really in complete Attention Deficit Creator Disorder mode right now, pretty much.

Strangely, his wrestling v-logs have made we want to watch some wrestling just so I know what he's talking about. When I saw the kissing contest, I knew he was gonna flip. But he usually does Wrestle! Wrestle! while he has nothing else to do, so no harm really done.

Plus I say his opening should now start with him freaking out at his own singing.

Yeah, if I knew Spoony, I'd be telling him to take a leave of absence for a bit before he has a Heroic RRoD.

Anyone who can subject themselves to the entirety of After Last Season for our entertainment has to count as close to heroic.

He had to take down all the videos of After Last Season at the creator's request.

It's good that he's trying to streamline the video-making process so he can get them out faster, though.

It also turns out that Spoony lives near most of my dad's side of the family. Huh.

Call me just a fan, but I really don't get this whole "Spoony is arrogant" thing, yeah, maybe he acted aggressively towards his trolls, but what do you expect? He's Hot-Blooded, quick witted, easily offended and ballsy, you know, all the traits that made him popular. So, if I don't really see this new behavior as any different from normal Spoony, if he's arrogant now, then he's always been arrogant.

Maybe that came out of nowhere but I think we should talk about this controversy and this thread seemed like a good place.

That seems to be a persona of the Spoony character, more than Noah himself.

I loved the Deadliest Warrior review, but the follow-up video was one of the best videos I've ever seen from him. It seems like he can truly shine when faced with stupidity!

I say keep it up! I wanna see more game reviews!!!

I almost think a lot of the people bitching (On this site and others) are butthurt trolls that finally got called out on their bullshit and are offended by it. Nobody gave a shit when he eviscerated anybody else, but since he's targeting members of his own fanbase that makes things different? I don't really get it.

^ wut?

Ok, these are the components of the Deadliest Warrior shitstorm that I'm seeing:

  • 1. He reviews Deadliest Warrior and calls it out for the bullshit shovelware that it is.
  • 2. Spike Games and the game's bizarrely existing fanbase backlashes at him.
  • 3. He makes a video calling out said backlash on their bullshit.

Where do troll fans factor into that? I must be reading your post wrong.

I'm talking a lot about his twitter feed, and they way he responded to the feedback wasn't exactly...calm and civil, he pretty much outright mocked the people who commented (deservedly, but still) on his Spike reviews. His fanbase is shocked, shocked! That Spoony would dare...act like he always acts, clever and confrontational, that's what Spoony does.

Here's something sad - I know somebody who owns this game, I saw him and a friend playing it, and they enjoy it... all because of the claim of realism. *facepalm*
