Ehh, at its base the combat in Iji is actually pretty easy once you understand it. Most attacks that matter at range can be avoided indefinitely by ducking except when there's very unfavorable terrain, in which case almost everything can be solved by a well-timed jump. Most weapons that matter are of a conveniently "shoot for a fraction of a second then spend several seconds doing anything else while it reloads" variety, allowing if not encouraging you to duck or jump to a safe spot and only pop up for brief attacks. And for really tough situations you can just bust out one of your super-weapons (nuke, plasma laser or velocithor—though you may choose to use the laser as a primary weapon even) to completely invalidate the threat, as ammunition is plentiful.
Suddenly that gives me the idea of a machinegun-and-pulse-rifle-only killer run, just for the novelty of not getting to do what I just described. I'll probably never do it though, free time's not as plentiful as it used to be.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)For some reason, I am now trying to imagine Iji as an FPS.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Incidentally, a bit of fridge logic for the Tasen complaint about Iji never running out of ammunition for her shotgun; the aliens never run out of ammo for their stuff either!

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I've played and beaten IJI multiple times... and I haven't gotten most of the secrets. Why?
Getting some of the\ secrets forces me to kill.
I congratulate you, you have done what the makers of... every other game I've ever played couldn't: Created a game where I don't want to get all the special secrets because I am so wrapped up in the characters.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Well I went and got myself the worst ending for the hell of it... that was depressing. Got to kill an annihilator with only a shotgun and some rockets though, which was awesome.

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I think I wanted the enemies to run out of rockets and MPFB at some point, but that means you might as well just enter and exit their field of view until they run out of ammo every time you encounter one, which would just be tedious.
When I made this, I honestly didn't think some people would get into it so much that they wouldn't want to do a killer run. Guess I succeeded there, at least for some.
Well, if we didn't care for IJI's psyche then we wouldn't had problems with pulling the trigger and the usual business after that :D.
Ans since we are talking about tiny details.....why the enemies don't try to duck and shoot from there? at least the Assassins try to shoot at the height of your feet. Why dont they try to follow you by dropping down a hole/elevator shaft to kill you? and while we are at it, what reason do IJI have to not shoot while jumping? i know that the thing weights alot and it is impossible to aim perfectly but if the fate of the world is at hand, i may as well shoot and hope that i take my enemies with me.

Maybe nanogun weapons have such severe knockback that the nanofield can only compensate for if you have a secure footing on the ground?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Game balance.
Australia The country with a 2 party system But all the power with independentsImagine you have just a plain old 9mm pistol. Hopping an inch or so off the ground, could you accurately fire it? Now multiply it's size and weight by a factor of a lot and imagine jumping several feet off the ground. It would be a futile endeavor and most of your thoughts are focusing on landing with both feet on the ground rather than trying to shoot

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonUnless you're some armored dude in an FPS.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Just fill the answer with your head canon Nothing wrong with that after all. That or use that Mantra.
Game Balance is something i suspected (but more on the how the puzzles could be solved more easily if i could just jump and shot a rocket on my face) however, while we are at it..
hnd 03:
Well, gameplaywise, IJI doesnt take fall damage even when receiving damage and falling flat on the floor from 10 story falls, so she may as well try to shot a triple rocket to ensure the enemy defeat. And do not forget the Nuke, accuracy doesnt matter when you can hit anything on-screen, but jumping a little to get the enemy that its far up is quite an useful idea if i were on the same position as IJI.
Happy fourth Birthday to Iji!
Oh.Has it been that long? It's my birthday today too.
Happy birthday for you then. Thanks a bunch for the game. :)
How do lizards fly?Joyeux Anniversaire!
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."So when is Iji II: Revengeance hitting the shelves?
Happy birthday Ulti!
Give me cute or give me...something?Thanks!
So when is Iji II: Revengeance hitting the shelves?
Tomorrow*.
I don't get it
Oh.
I'm actually finding the killing run harder than the pacifism; I've become so acclimatised to dodging potential enemies I've become incompetent at actual combat.
