Aizen is even more hax than ever! I would not be surprised if he is now past Yamamoto in terms of raw power! Although Yhwach is still going to be ahead of him by a longshot.

Eh. He has yet to do anything that has impressed me as much as Zanka no Tachi, Ichinonji, or The Almighty. They're basically using him as a big DPE bomb.
'course I think Yhwach was weaker than Yama pre-Bankai theft.
I'm pretty sure they're basing the comparison on Aizen being able to use Hado 90 on such a large scale like that, without incantation.
Also, Urahara's the one who said he might have gotten stronger. He saw Aizen's evolved forms and the conclusion to that battle so if anyone would know, it'd be him (well I guess Ichigo would know better since he saw the kido as well).

It's mainly because releasing such a dangerous prisoner is such a drastic thing, and Kyoraku hadn't really waited for the darkest moment before he did that. He's anticipating that they'll reach Godzilla Threshold, before they've actually reached it. That does not speak well of his faith in the others.
