After this week's One Piece, can I just say that I liked how, in the As Nodt fight, Byakuya didn't outright save Rukia, more bought her time?
What has occurred in One Piece?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOne of the female side characters this arc endured a rather humiliating defeat to a male villain, and then was saved by her father, another side character. It was a pretty controversial chapter.
Sounds par for the course in One Piece.
A female character also saved a male character from being devoured by killer nutcrackers, though, so there's that.
NO.
It's not. And don't act like it is. I'm not happy about how things went down there, but that's because Oda is better than that.
And that's the end of that conversation. I'll hear no more of it.
I'd forgotten about that, and more to the point, it's a main female character, as opposed to a side character.

One Strip! One Strip!Yeesh.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHow humiliating was it? Vizard level humiliating? Yamcha level humiliating?
What was in your right hand is hope; And in another hand is something else to fade.Point is, yay Rukia's competent.
And I'm hoping Orihime got a powerup.
In between, I'd say. She'd have to have died to be as bad as Yamcha.
I'd say it was about as bad as Aizen figuring out Shinji's impossible-to-figure-out inversion attack.

Oh? It must have been bad then because it's very rare for female characters to accomplish anything in One Piece. To be humiliating compared to that almost makes me curious enough to go look for myself.
Well, she was running away thinking about how she didn't want to fight, then he either slashed or shot her, than bragged about killing her mother while about to kill, she thought about how she wanted her father to come save her, and then screamed his name (well, alias, but it's what she's always called him) and then he came and saved her.
Though, we really shouldn't be talking about it here, talking about other series in these threads never leads to anywhere good.
True, true.
Do with think Rukia is stronger than Hitsugaya now? I'd say she is, but waaaaaaay less controllable.
I'd say she probably is. There's no getting around that here abilities at least sound way more impressive than his now, even if they come with a bigger risk.

I've also noticed that Rukia seems to be associating far more with her fellow Reapers than the Karakura Krew these days. Wonder why; to kill off the shippers?
Hyorinmaru is the strongest ice type zanpakutou, capable of controlling the weather. So no, I don't think she's stronger. Her physical abilities shouldn't be a match for his either.
Probably because she has more responsibility to the Seireitei as a lieutenant.
Sooo, Bambietta gets shot by Charlotte, and Hitsugaya gets mind screwed by Mayuri.
Not sure what to expect from Giselle now. Bambietta's probably dead and Hitsugaya's about to get a fate worse than death, so unless Giselle has more zombies, she's close to done.
Now you've done it. Here comes Zombie Retsu, just to kick us all in the nuts.
I hope your happy.
One Strip! One Strip!I think Giselle's gonna pull out a Vollstandig that does something crazy.
There's been speculation that her Vollstandig turns her into a masculine or otherwise hideous form a la Zarbon.
That's what I think all the "She's really a dude" stuff has been leading up to. Also gives us a reason for why she (or he if you prefer I guess) doesn't like using it besides being tiring.

She might actually be gender-less.

Hitsugaya's zanpakto was probably the strongest ice Type at the time, but now that rukia has been upgraded, it's more leaning toward rukia.
Hitsugaya can control the weather and cause such massive ice storms that they can cover an entire battlefield and destroy his own allies if he's not careful.
Oh, and unlike Rukia, he can actually, you know, move after he attacks rather than sit there not even twiddling her thumbs for fear of destroying herself.

Renji is a nobody, so it's not a contradiction if he notices.
