[up][up] @Chaoticqueen: If you like board games, Armello is right up your alley. Note that there's a 30% discount right now since a new patch just came out, but you need to shell out a bit more for the DLC with the buff female that is actually an attacker. (The non-DLC large female is a spellcaster but then again all the bears are all spellcasters.)

I'm not quite sure how this thread works, but I recently finished playing through Drawn to Life and The Legendary Starfy. Do you guys know any other obscure DS platformers I should check out?

DS huh? Well if it's obscure, I probably never played it...

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is a decent 2d platformer (DS version only) with some puzzle elements from switching between two characters.

Not as obscure, but the two Megaman ZX games are pretty good.

So with the steam winter sale I am in the mood for some SRPGs for PC with more of a lean on the (J)RPG aspect. How is Shadowrun Hong Kong and Agarest Senki trilogy? Also an anime fan so Agarest Senki's anime-ness is a plus.

Shadowrun Hong Kong is good. Maybe not quite matching up to its predecessor Dragonfall, but still worth it.

PC has a lot of cool ports recently... Phantom Brave, Valkyria Chronicles, Hyperdevotion Noire...

Also for SRPG in general, you may wanna try Renowned Explorers International Society, or the Banner Saga series.

Hey lately I found the iOS version of Broken Age for $0.99 and the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 remake for iOS for $2.99 at the App Store.

I've got $16.56 left from my $25 iTunes gift card. Are any of the two games worth their asking price?

The iOS port of Limbo is pretty good.

[up] Ok, but I don't care for Limbo.

I do care for Sonic and point-and-click adventure games, so...

Broken Age is a steal at $0.99.

Broken Age is ok at that price. It's both episodes, right?

[up] The App Store says it's got both episodes, yes.

Also, I was pretty interested in the iOS version of Sonic 2 because it's the remake by Taxman and Stealth and is said to blow the original version out of the water.

Bump.

I don't know how long the sale would last, so I got Broken Age.

It better be worth its 2.1 GB, I had to delete a big chunk of apps just to squeeze it into my iPad.

It's got full voice acting. It'll be worth.

The only other thing worth 2.1GB in iOS is The World Ends With You. [tup]

Avernum is a WRPG that gets rave reviews on tablets, consider that.

Good stealth-based, resource-management heavy first person shooters? Metro I liked fine, but the stealth was day-old tripe.

Does anyone here know if the 2013 Tomb Raider game is worth getting?

The short answer is yes. The long answer is yeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss.

To give a bit more thorough summary though, if you're looking for something like the old Tomb Raider games you probably don't want to buy it. Gameplay-wise, it's more of a Uncharted-esque third-person shooter. However, if you're looking for a game with a compelling story, and interesting characters, I would highly recommend it. It's an origin story where you get to see Lara transition from wide-eyed college student to traumatized badass. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

[up] Thank you, that does sound interesting.

As far as what i'm looking for, I'm mostly looking for something more actioney than the RP Gs I typically play, while still having a good story. From what you said, Tomb Raider might be what I'm looking for. :)

[up][up]Nier. Both the first one and the sequel coming out. Both are action games (with the second in particular looking amazing in the gameplay department,) with some of the best stories seen in gaming. (Well, the first one anyway. The second one's not out yet so it's still too early to tell, but I'm gonna bet that it's still fricking awesome.) And the music's just brilliant. Seriously, if you haven't checked them out, do so, because not only do they seem to be what you're looking for, they're just that good.

I've heard Final Fantasy Tactics is a really good game, but I don't have a Playstation. However, I do know that there are two GBA Tactics games, and a port on mobile, (which is actually based on a PSP port, but I no longer have my PSP) so out of all these ports it's possible for me to get, which one is the best?

The GBA tactics games aren't ports though, they are sequels: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Tactics A-2 has the best battle system and the original has the best story. Which one you prefer more? Get that one.

I do not recommend tactics advance, the law system is so stupid you can easily corner yourself to the point where your save is unwinnable and have to restart from scratch.

So I tried the humble monthly for xcom2, probably not doing it again. Any of these any good?
