Sorry, can't help you there.
I'm looking for a nice wide opensandbox game for the ps3 or mac.
I think the action RPG genre hadn't really gained much footing in the NES days... the closest thing I can think of would be River City Ransom.
Logged: The commanding officer is aboard. XO Pressley stands relieved. How about Action RPG for the SNES?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.You're on much more solid ground there. I'd reccomend Illusion of Gaia, or if you don't mind an emulator, Terranigma.
But somehow,◊Ah, yes, Quintet.
Ill try them out, thanks.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Finding a good game for the PS 2 / PS 3, mainly some Role Playing Game or Strategy.
Wide Open Sandbox Game for the PS 3... Infamous is nice, I hear.

Last Defense Line. The best action RPG I played on SNES was Seiken Densetsu 3. Of course, that was never released in the U.S. and may be hard to get a copy of... the best substitute would be its predecessor, Secret Of Mana.
Logged: The commanding officer is aboard. XO Pressley stands relieved.Chrono Trigger, Secret Of Evermore and to a lesser extend Final Fantasy and Super Mario RPG
What I need is a good RPG from the App Store. I'd really prefer a turn-based RPG (I find touch screen controls to be a bit slippery for ARP Gs), but I'm willing to try anything good. Oh, and I've already got FF 1&2. ^^b
But somehow,◊RE: SNES action RPG: I've assumed you've already played Secret Of Mana?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntRPGs for PS 2? Dragon Quest VIII is pretty good from what I've played so far. Grandia II got a remake on the system, as well - near as I can tell from reviews, the port wasn't great (it was originally on the Dreamcast), but still serviceable. And the music and battle system are both awesome.
EDIT: Oops... Sorry about Recommending myself games...
Oh... Dragon Quest... MAYBE I'll Try it... Also, I'm in need of a good DS RPG.

Last Defense Line.I'mma just gonna throw out a call for any cute virtual pet games for PS 2, Wii, or DS, and anything they're backward compatible with.
Something more Hey You Pikachu (game has something at least vaguely resembling a story/goals, maybe with its own internal measure of the days), less Nintendogs (open-ended romping that never ends due to the internal clock being real-time).
Make my teeth rot, Tropers!
Att Obl: One of my friends really likes Demon Souls.
DS RPG: If you like strategy-style games, you have Final Fantasy Tactics A2, which is good fun, but somewhat easy, I think, also, the law system can be frustrating. On the plus side, it's less exploitable than in TA. Disgaea is good if you can stand the grind, and even if not, the story is fun enough that giving it at least a try. Devil Survivor is also fun, although I think the game requires you to grind, but secretly hates you for it, interesting concept too.
On the topic of more traditional RPGs, Strange Journey appears to be good thus far, but I haven't really gotten too far into it.
Liveblog | DeadblogWhat are some good games for Wii Ware? List a few and a short description of each
I already have World Of Goo and Cave Story.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.As for other recommendations for me, any good games for the PS 1/2/3 that has Video Game Caring Potential?
And I'm torn whatever I should get Split Second or another GOOD FPS. But that... That means I'll probably leave Irisu behind... as with those Knights... as with Gig...
Last Defense Line.Wii Ware - Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People (5 episodes). Homestar Runner Adventure Game. Hilarious if you like H*R's brand of surrealistic, malapropism-heavy humour, and some damn find point-and-click action besides.
Sadly, no - I've been dragging my heels on getting my Wii Internetted again, so that's pretty much the only Wii Ware game I have besides World of Goo. Have plenty of Virtual Console recs if you want 'em, though.
Hey, hey, here's one... any Skies Of Arcadia style hyper-optimistic RP Gs out there I should pick up?
I've played all there is to play for most of Nintendo's first party games (Super Mario series, Legend of Zelda Series etc.). Might have missed third party games though, so that needs some help. What would you recommend for games outside of Nintendo's main systems on the VC?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.See, I was a Genesis kid, so...
- Beyond Oasis was essentially the Genesis' answer to Zelda, and it's a pretty good one.
- Wonder Boy in Monster World is some good old fashioned platformy, slashy fun.
- Ecco The Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time
because I rec them to everyoneare mostly fun for the Nintendo Hard puzzles and the unashamedly bizarre, oddly compelling backdrop. - The Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog titles are a must. I'd recommend Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, combined to form Sonic 3 & Knuckles, personally. Still my favourite Sonic game.
I had purchased Comix Zone about a month ago. I loved it, but its nigh impossible to beat.
I also love Streets Of Rage 2.
I'll look those games up, thank you.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.If you don't already have/care for the SNK Wii compilation, I'd reccommend Top Hunter. A fun little platformer with fighting game-like special moves.
Where we ask and recommend each other video games. Just list your preferences such as what system in particular you're looking for and what genre.
I'm looking for a cool game for the NES (import too if necessary), preferably an Action RPG.
