- While thinking back I must admit:
- Yes, reminiscence brings a fit.
- Reminds of villains' evil wit:
- Such darkness: cruel and haughty
- But I could not ever be at loath,
- Towards these monsters' evil growth.
- I found myself rooting for both.
- Pray, does that make me... nauuuughtyyyy?

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpThis show was strange, unpredictable, utterly freaky and brilliant.
You know it's a great show when my mum complains about me watching it.
This show terrified me as a kid. To a point where'd I run out of the room screaming when it would come on.
Watching it now, it's still freaky, but I love it! I found myself saying "Buy fantasy flan! Buy fantasy flan!" the last time I was grocery shopping with Mom and she bought flan. xD
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Dear god, Katz. How the ''hell' did they get him past the censors?! He's basically a serial killing psychopath played completely straight!
Also, the Kitty and Bunny episode had a surprisingly sweet ending for this show.
I just saw the episodes "The Hunchback of Nowhere" and "The Last of the Starmakers". I have to say that even though the Monster of the Week and Nightmare Fuel eps are really good, the show's best moments has to be incredibly touching Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming the series had. Courage is such a Woobie, and I'm glad that unlike a couple of others, he's occasionally thrown a bone in a while.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.^^^^ True much of the heartwarming/Tearjerking episodes were also among the greatest. By no means if there was a Greatest Courage Episodes. Not all of them or even most of the Top 10 would be just Nightmare Fuel episodes. One in particular is the second-to-last episode of Courage "Remembrance of Courage's Past" you'd have to be hard-hearted to not feel bad for Courage after seeing it it's almost the perfect (No pun intended) combination with the episode Perfect. Courage's Past ends off the Heartwarming/Sad parts, and Perfect ends off the Nightmare deal.
Oh god. The scene where he's alone crying in the alleyway after his parents get shipped off into space, and younger Muriel finds him and names him Courage...that was easily one of the best moments of the series.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.^^ Courage's Past is definatly in the top 3 for my favorite episodes! It's so bittersweet and beautifully written! Hardly any dialog, but yet it's still tearjerking.
Though, Little Muriel is by far my favorite simply because it was the most hilarious. The macaroni bit alone was a Crowning Moment Of Funny!
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella."I just started rewatching all of the old eps online (they're all online now!)"
WHERE!??!!?
signature lineI think that dude might be talking about Hulu.
I don't know a specific place where you can just watch all of them, but if you Google a specific Courage episode it's guaranteed to be there now.
Livevideo.com certainly has a lot of them.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I've been trying to find the Les Yay one with Kitty and Bunny forever, but I can't seem to find it. :<
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaYay! A Courage thread! It was my favourite show on Cartoon Network back then. Granted, I never got around to watching Samurai Jack. But it's the best episodic cartoon I can think of.
Expanding on the topic brought up a few posts up, which episodes do you think are among the best ones, scary or not? Let's get some obvious ones out of the way first: "King Ramses" (only episode to legitimately scare me), "Remembrance of Courage Past", "The Last of the Starmakers" (my favourite of the heartwarming episodes), "Hunchback of Nowhere"
The other ones don't stand out as much to me, but I really like "The Great Fusili" and "Doc Gerbil" for the general pacing and story. Despite the awesome music, I never took to The Tower of Dr. Zalost quite as much. I also have a soft spot for the Demon in the Mattress and "Muriel the Magnficent" (where Muriel gets possessed by the British computer?) because I think they're the funniest two episodes ever.

^ Demon In The Mattress had some of the best gags of the whole show.
- Demon/Muriel "It would be lovely... if I could have a cup... of... TEA!!! (Scare Chord)
- Courage: (Screams)
Also, "Kick 'em in the dishpan, woo woo woo?" (Eustace mugs the camera).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. My favorite heartwarming episode is "The Magic Tree of Nowhere." Is it weird that I'm equally fond of episodes where Eustace is a complete and utter Jerkass who deserves a good kick in the shins as I am of the ones where he shows his Hidden Heart of Gold and acts like a genuinely nice person?
Also: Just found the episode I was looking for! It's apparently called "The Mask." Woo! And—wow, that really was Les Yay-riffic. "Now we can be best friends... forever!" *hugs and nuzzles* On the other hand, another good heartwarming episode.
And my favorite gag from the series:
Robot Randy's ending's always been a favorite heartwarming moments - especially with the music, I've always liked that theme that plays whenever Randy whittles or at the end, and it only shows up in two episodes or so.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I never really understood why King Ramses was considered "scary". The character was so over the top and his theme was such a Crowning Music Of Awesome that it made the episode that much more funny and exhiliarating. Plus, I think it had one of the best lines ever uttered by Eustace:
"Well judging by the markings and the obvious age of this relic, I'd say it would have to be...GARBAGE! Garbage!! From King Garbage, Of Garbage Dynasty!"
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.^ It's the locusts. And how they ate those guys at the beginning. Pretty friggin creepy, to say the least.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.^ For me it was the Uncanny Valleyish animation. I was kinda scared of mummies and corpses in general when I was a kid too.
Bentin Tarantella also freaked me out (not as badly though).
Anyone remember the episode where Muriel joins a bunch of Valkyries? I loved that one.
^
- "Who?"
- Benton Tarrantella? The famous movie director!
- "Never heard of ya!"
Whoever did his voice was awesome. "This is gonna be great!"
Also, they're zombie serial killers, having killed twelve people and risen from the dead to do it again. Proof this show wasn't messing around.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I think the Courage episode that terrified me the most when i was younger to the point of Recurring Nightmare status was House Of Discontent. The Uncanny Valley pale face was enough to creep me out, but also topped with he was going to kill them if they didn't grow something in the next ten minutes and that Eustace still wasn't willing to help, made me want to just hide behind my curtains for a week.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. Is it weird of me that I never once found an episode of Courage to be creepy?

Didn't see a general thread for Courage, but I think we should have one. When I was younger, Courage The Cowardly Dog used to be one of my all time favorite shows on the CN. Now that I'm older I still love it! I just started rewatching all of the old eps online (they're all online now!) and it's so hilariously Nightmare Fuel-ish and comedic.
Anyone else remember this show?
