Anyone else getting the feeling that this arc is a You Bastard! at the Japanese readers, with the way the entire country instantly turns on a nice guy for "stealing" a gold medal and makes him a pariah?
Chapter 59 out.
I... I'm not tearing up! It's just... So sad! >sob<
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 60.
Oh dear god. That is fucked up. That is so fucked up. URGHHAGHHH.
I know what's going to happen and it still doesn't make it any less tragic.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Chapter 61 is available at the translator's website.
Tragedy ensues.
Of course, it never occurred to him that he could just pretend to be Nono, and be the artist sister of his ski jumping brother? Idiot. ;_;
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Noooo!

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. The fucking idiot. If he had just pretended to be Nono, the Olympic committee gender testing problem wouldn't be so insurmountable. He could just go and take her gender test for her, and she could do the actual jumping for him. It would make Nono's daily life easier too - she could actually swap with him and get to dress as a girl at least some of the time if he were there to cover for him. So many of Nono's problems would be lessened if he were there for her...
...which is why, I suppose, the mangaka killed him off. Bleh.
To be fair I think he was already suffering from severe depression due to the way his father was treating him all these years and this was very obviously the last straw that broke him. Literally.

Chapter 62 is available at the translator's website.
The wall Nono has been written into seems pretty solid. There's no way they got her into bed without noticing she's a woman, baby. I'm really at a logical impasse here. Naught for it, but to wait for the next chapter, I guess.
Well, I didn't really need to spoiler that, but, ehn, it's done.

Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. What I don't get is how the autopsy showed that Yuuta was a girl. I don't get that at ALL.
Ah, I love this series. So very cruel and interesting.
Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus.@Anarchy: That's why I think there was someone else involved. It'd probably come up again further along the story. I hope.
Chapter 64 is now available at the translator's website.
A long absent character makes a return. Naturally, I'm talking about Badass Nonomiya.

Nono has cast aside dirty tricks, and turned to the true secret of sports manga: Rage training montages!
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 69 out.
It's Raping Time! Thanks to uncovered spoiler's on the works page here, I know how it turns out, but I'd be shocked and worried if I didn't.
Okamoto doesn't necessarily subscribe to the 'all happy endings and smiles' philosophy of manga.

Acrophobia strikes! Nono finds her missing fear, but is it too much?
Is this the end of our intrepid heroine?

Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Damn, that's harsh. Just about the worst possible moment to discover your fear.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Chapter 78 out.
Does this count as Ho Yay? But only for Amatsu? I'm so confused...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 79 out at the translator's website.
The view from this cliff is lovely. I could hang here all week.

Hmm, awkward. I hardly know where to put your panties...
After thinking about this chapter a bit:
I'm sort of enraged. I totally didn't get the feeling that Kishi realised that raping an unconscious girl was a shitbag thing to do, just that he was turned off from hearing Amatsu's name. Or that it's only ok to rape unconscious girls when they don't like somebody else. I hope Nono kicks the shit out that little bastard before she remembers to worry about her secret. Well, she's all sick and feverish, so that's unlikely, but still.

I suppose it's not that unusual, but this triangle just feels weird...
Well Kishitani suffers a little. Nono was too laid back in that situation for me.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 104 out at translator's website. (whoa, it's been a while)
We're just going into scary dude overload here.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Sorry for this thread necromancy act. While I'm bit disappointed that we only saw one brief shot with Nonomiya and her team standing on the podium, and Okamoto skipped Olympics action, I'm quite satisfied. Inter High was a great arc.
PS.I came to like this manga much more than Elfen Lied.
PS 2. Two years from now, and the manga will be anachronic. Next Winter Olympics female ski jumpers are finally allowed to compete in their own category
My President is Funny Valentine.
This series reminds me of Elfen Lied, too. I'm expecting blood.
Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus.
