Liking this so far - it makes sense. :-)
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.It makes sense? Well, there goes my mental image of it being some sort of cousin of Bobobo
I have a message from another time...Stopped reading at Elfen Lied.
Are there any more chapters?
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. There are actually about 100 chapters out in Japanese already, and about 40 in Chinese. Onemanga is updating pretty quickly though.
I enjoy this manga a lot. Though whenever a character grins or smirks I kept thinking they're going to go ax crazy and murder everyone around them. Seriously, the grins of some of the characters are identical to the murderous grins that Lucy makes in Elfen Lied.
Ch. 17 & 18 is out.
^And the candidate for the first one to kill is the "Emperor",who is carpet-biting,weights-chucking,face-smashing insane.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Yikes. I Was Just Joking.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Since no-one else is posting, may as well turn this into a mini-liveblog. (Why'd it get stuck with such a silly name?)
- p.3-4: Ski-jumping? In the summer? Here's how.
- p.5: "You're at a 10. We need you at about a 7."◊
- p.6: Talk to the troops... but who's this?
- p.7: The university team's coach appears!
- p.8: Reporter-san and some woman. Nonomiya's flustered.
- p.9-10: Don't be rash about silly bets; they may require brain bleach afterwards. For some.
- p.11-15: And here's how you practice the jumps. Obligatory Power Level Over 9000 moment.
- p.16: Skijumpskijumpskijumpskijumpskijump...
- p.17: ...skijumpskijump- what? ... You make a good point. Fucking psycho sempai.
- p.18 The university team's coach appears! ...to be evil.
I'm really loving this series; hopefully it'll end up just as good as Elfen Lied. The supporting characters aren't quite as engaging as in EL so far, but the main Nono story is so good I'm sure that'll change.
Quoted for the truth! Elfen Lied is nothing but pure distilled goregasm. With furries.
Fear is our ally. The gasoline will be ours. A Honey Badger does not kill you to eat you. It tears off your testicles. This makes little to no sense character-wise. So Shirya's a decent person after all? And the evil coach did all those nasty evil things? How convenient.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Someone finally made the connection between her two personas. He had to hear her voice and see her stark-naked but the secret's out. Shit.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Didn't know we had a Nononono topic here. Good stuff.
Also, don't confuse The Emperor with a good person, just because he's not(quite) as he originally seemed.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 50 is out.
Gah, Nononono is really something that should be marathoned. Reading a chapter at a time gives me a sharp feeling of dissatisfaction. Chapters should be 40 pages long! And get translated twice a day! Dammit!
I said it else where, but this really is the best sports manga since Happy!, but without the constant air of tragedy, though I hear this does get pretty depressing later(not interested in hearing precisely how).
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. This was a good chapter. It's good that her teammate didn't out her.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.I never thought that would happen, but I was a little disturbed by how easily he switched gears. Some foreshadowing would have helped that chapter a lot.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 51 out.
Ahh, more new characters. I may need a scorecard soon.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 52 out.
Well, this looks bad. I'm uncertain how the next chapter will play out... Always a good thing in my book!
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 53.
Beginning the alleged flashback of despair arc. Will it be as bad as people have said, or have I been over sold(don't answer that)?
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Chapter 57 is out.
Ah, it is sad after all...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Whenever a character makes an emotionally disturbed face, I can't help but get flashbacks to Elfen Lied. Seriously. Even though in all other aspects except the art it's nothing like Elfen Lied.
You scum. No father should do that.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. That chapter made me tear up. I feel terrible for the father as well, though.
During my liveblog of Elfen Lied I got interested in Lynn Okamoto's other work, and found that his current series Nononono has recently been added to onemanga's lineup. It's being updated pretty quickly so far, and I'm quite impressed with the series. The best way I've thought of to describe it is that it's like no one told Okamoto that gender bender mangas have to suck. The main character Nono is very sympathetic and has a completely believable and compelling reason for her cross-dressing, and the research put into the ski jumping scenes is really impressive. I've made a page for it here.
