Ok it was mentioned there is not a thread for Law Enforcement Officers (LEO for short)and other similar jobs for discussion.
This is for discussing the actual jobs, ranks, training, culture, relations to military bodies that exist, and any other variety of topics that can arise pertaining to the World of Policing.
This might be confirmation bias but that seems common, it seems that people willing to engage in mass violence are also willing to be violent in their personal lives.

Take it with a grain of salt, since the sheriff starts veering into a lot of speculation. Something the FBI agent overseeing the investigation, Aaron Rouse, pointed out in the article.
It sounds like the sheriff was just desperate to have something to say besides "We haven’t understood it yet. You have to be patient with us.”

Disgusted, but not surprisedhttps://www.thelocal.ch/20171007/swiss-police-kill-sri-lankan-asylum-seeker-brandishing-knives
Swiss police in Ticino have announced that an investigation is carried out whether an officer did lawfully shoot a Sri Lanka refugee armed with a knife trying to attack fellow refugees.
Saw that in the news, don't have much more information beyond what the article says. People - even asylum seekers - being shot by police isn't a common occurrence here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI would've assume that these usually don't make the news, being local events at least before 9/11 and the refugee crisis.
The shootings of black kids/men in the US did receive substantial news coverage and police shooting anyone is rare here in Switzerland, a fairly small country. So I am not that surprised.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHey, remember that officer in Salt Lake City who arrested a nurse who wouldn't let him take an illegal blood sample?
He's been fired. And his supervisor has been demoted.

Pretty obvious that his ass was grass, he broke regulations in a possible attempted cover up, openly tried to violate basic civil rights, assaulted and threatened the person who was legally and professionally obligated to stop him, and it all got caught on camera.
Oh, and he had harassment on his record to. Lovely.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Well, those circumstances aren't necessarily damning, even for dismissal as opposed to suits. Twas probably key that none could shift blame for the incident onto the nurse.
Look with century eyes... With our backs to the arch And the wreck of our kind We will stare straight ahead For the rest of our livesHe got fired again. Recall that he already got fired from his second job as a paramedic.
For also being an asshole saying he would attempt to retaliate against the nurse by bringing her hospital problem patients.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Who watches the watchmen? He's going to become a gypsy cop: moving to a LEO desperate enough to hire him
-or-
He's going to become an expensive "consultant" to some shady security firm.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48There've been a lot of things that rightfully should have ended an officer's career if not outright landing them in prison. I don't consider that obvious anymore.
If she was black, they'd just be mad at him for not shooting her.

Probably a good idea. With his luck, he'd probably get pulled over and tested positive for meth possession again.
That and doughnut glazing, crumbs, and powdered sugar leave such a mess. I always try to avoid eating in the car.

Marilou Danley, girlfriend of Las Vegas gunman, saw 'no warning' of violence
This bit caught my eye:
Esperanza Mendoza, the shop’s supervisor, said the abuse came when Danley would ask to use his casino card to make a purchase. The cards, a common form of currency on the Vegas strip, allow gamblers to spend credits earned on electronic gaming machines.
Mendoza said: “He would glare down at her and say – with a mean attitude – ‘You don’t need my casino card for this. I’m paying for your drink, just like I’m paying for you.’ Then she would softly say, ‘OK,’ and step back behind him. He was so rude to her in front of us.”
So on top of being a mass-murderer this guy was also an ass to his girlfriend.
