Ok it was mentioned there is not a thread for Law Enforcement Officers (LEO for short)and other similar jobs for discussion.
This is for discussing the actual jobs, ranks, training, culture, relations to military bodies that exist, and any other variety of topics that can arise pertaining to the World of Policing.
Nobody calls OSI unless Area 51 is involved.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleIt's old, but its a critique on the lack of cooperation between the NPA and the MOD.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"
Arguably, it was always designed that way. Unless disaster response is counted in, the JSDF is isolated from the civilian world in general.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleAn editorial that the HKPF should get rid of guns for uniformed officers as a positive gesture since they rarely use them. The article has more details.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Ominae: Thanks for sharing this stuff with us. So easy to miss stuff around the world.
Who watches the watchmen? An item in my local newspaper (Reading Eagle, Pennsylvania):
Crack cocaine put in lost and found
Police said they put about $1,600 worth of crack cocaine in their "lost and found box" in hopes of reuniting it with its rightful owner.
The Citizens' Voice reported the drug was found in the parking lot of a shopping center outside Wilks-Barre.
Wilks-Barre Township police posted about the find on the department's Facebook page. In a post headlined "FOUND ITEM," police quipped the drug had been placed in the department's "lost and found box" and invited the owner to retrieve it.
The post requested a picture of the crack's owner holding the drug along with ID and "a written statement containing your claim to the crack."
What do you want to bet that some crackhead actually tries to claim it?
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.I got the preliminary results of my police admission test today, I think I scored high enough to proceed to the next phases.
Now all I need to do is to keep losing weight and keep training for the physical tests, which are already yielding some good results.
Inter arma enim silent legespwiegle: Lol. Face palm worthy no less.
Angelus: Good luck man and keep up the work.
Who watches the watchmen?Watch out for some of the more unexpected parts of the medical tests, some forces will do more than the standard BMI/running/drug use tests. You can end up being subjected to hearing tests, sight tests and even unaided vision tests.
I just need to confirm with my optician that my eyesight doesn't meat the minimum unaided vision requirement for my force before I fully give up on my application, which is a shame, I managed the online assessment, the role play/interview assessment and everything else about the physical assessment.
Dam computers, they can mess you up they can.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranI have those checked and within the standards, though there is a psychological(fixed) evaluation that is famed to fail more than 70% of the candidates, but I have been taking care of that also. Blood sugar, cardio, cholesterol, sight and hearing, all checked before the tests and taking care to keep them checked.
I never once in my life though that I would go to a shrink but here I am, working body and mind.
I think this is one of the few things I've actually put real effort achieve and I am feeling better for it. Lost 10 Kg in 6 months, got a better mood and I feel like I dug myself out of the sinkhole I threw myself in a few years ago.

Inter arma enim silent legesSay wha-
should have been psychological evaluation there.

Nah they are just prepping for Megacity South America.
Who watches the watchmen? So, police in a small town here in Nova Scotia are looking to give away a Cougar armored vehicle they were gifted a few years ago (I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the Minister of Defense at the time was also their MP, because they have no use for it, especially after their tactical unit disbanded. So they are looking at sending it here to Halifax, where its not out of the question that the HRP might need it at some point.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I'll take it!
Inter arma enim silent legesConvert it to a Doof Wagon.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Interesting. At least they are going to do something with it rather then let it sit and rot.
Who watches the watchmen? We should all chip in and buy it together.
Oh really when?Small town NS doesn't have the cash to scrap or let those things sit around.
Apart from the whole "no selling military equipment to civilians" thing, they'd probably only charge shipping and handling. From what I hear, they just want it gone.
Pity it isn't in Cape Breton, some of the politicians up there probably are corrupt enough (the kind of guys who openly spent public money on hookers and blow and kept local authorities off them) to try and slip this under the table.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. All the cops were probably down at Dunkin' Donuts. (In my neighborhood, you can always — and I do mean, always — find a cop or three there. The dry cleaners' next door have nothing to fear.)

Looks like this is approved in vetting genuine visa applicants from the bad guys.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Welp. I didn't pass the test by two bloody points.
Going back to reading law books and keep up my physical training and wait until the next admission tests open up.
Meanwhile I'll try to find something to do and get me some extra bucks.

Even with paraphrasing your still generally required to demarcate or note it in some fashion.
