Music taste doesn't exist, it was something invented so people could feel that they were superior than other people and go "HAH HAH MY MUSIC TASTE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAT YOURS", instead of just listening to music and realizing that taste is, and will always be, subjective.

Holy run-on sentence, Batman!

I don't even like music. No one has music taste, period.

I reject your taste and substitute my own.

Depends on the type of music. Folk, for example, is quite dry and breadlike, while death metal tends to have a very salty flavour, like bacon.

I am completely biased when it comes to music taste.

If something isn't Rock from the 60's-80's or Metal in general, I want nothing to do with it.

Barring a few exceptions, of course.

I can't stand people that only listen to classic rock. Most of it is really bland music especially since it comes on the radio like 5 times a day. I do like a few so called "classic Rock" bands but I don't really consider them one because I think the term really has no meaning. My opinion with the blues is the same.

[up] it really depends on location and beside it's not like there isn't any variety between all the classic rock (although i admit that the term is pretty bland and can be inflated to mean anything)

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

Me and my best friend had a "debate" over this opinion.

She is into most mainstream Pop music that plays on the radio. I'm into music that was made decades before I was born (How many 16-year olds do you know have Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs on thier iPods eh?) or remade in a style that was around before I was born (Max Raabe and Das Palast Orchester). My friend seems to hold the standard that my taste in music sucks because it's old and therefor makes me a boring old fart in the body of a 16 year old. I retort say that she is into Lowest Common Denominator and that she has a memory that lasts only two years.

After arguing with eachother for awhile, we agreed that both our taste sucks and had a good laugh about the whole stupid argument.

When I asked my friend what her favourite music was, she replied "Anything that's indie enough. Therefore making my taste suprior to yours in everyway ;)". So we all came to the conculsion that music "taste" is just an excuse to bash on people for liking music you don't like.
