Prisoner of Ice 2/4: The Increasingly Silly Adventure of Lieutenant Ryan.
I know it's an old adventure game but holy shit a Kleptomaniac Hero in a military base just raises a lot of questions.
Yeahh, I've gotta share a revelation with you guys.
That cutscene is what solidified my hatred of Silver. I know he's lived ina hell of a future besieged by some fire demon thing but, MATE! A fucking woman just got kidnapped right within earshot by Robotnik, screaming for help, and SILVER DOESN'T FUCKING NOTICE AT ALL. Fucking Big the Cat would have looked to see what the hell was making all that noise first before turning to Sonic!
If I saw that cutscene first before all the others, I'd be forgiven for thinking Silver was actively working WITH Robotnik, but we're meant to sympathize with that colossal idiot who can't hear a woman shrieking for help, or notice that the supposed "Iblis Trigger" was trying to fucking protect her! You ever think, Silver, that maybe the reason you've seen that woman with the "Iblis Trigger" twice now is that, maybe, she's pretty fucking important? I mean Kyle Reese had more sense than you!
that's nto getting into how easily he believes the word of an evil looking hedgehog he's barely met before, who's named AFTER THE FUCKING DEVIL. Even Spider-Man knew who Mephisto was when he made the deal to swap his marriage for Aunt May's life!
What I'm saying is Shadow is one of my most hated Sonic charcters and he's a fucking hero for kicking Silver's fucktarded skull in.
Okay, good, I have a video to point to the next time somebody earnestly tells me that arbitrarily switching to another protagonist entirely in the middle of a stage, especially one with their own campaign that was pointedly not selected, is somehow a good idea - somebody else (slowbeef/Diabetus) are on record explicitly agreeing with me that no it really isn't.
I love that they're milking this Scepter/Book thing for all it's worth.

Moon◊I can't believe they literally left a line flub in the game. That's amazing.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Huh, why'd that video go private all of a sudden? Oh I should've checked Twitter

In SA 2 the sound mixing was so bad characters would talk over each other sometimes.
"you're not good enough to be my f-""ILL MAKE U EAT THOSE WORDS"
And I don't think they've ever cared about quality voice acting until somewhat recently.

They left in a vocal that cdidn't matchthe subtitle ("Book of Darkness" VS "Scepter") so really, leaving a botch in is to be expected.
I want to see their reaction to the inevitable Last Story popping up.
Out of all the voice actors in the franchise currently, I think Mike Pollock has had the more subtle but noticable cases of Vocal Evolution. He's one of the only 4Kids guys left but by Lost World he could pull off various aspects of Eggman's vocal characterization (hammy, casual, menacing, etc etc) better than most of the other actors at the moment, not to mention the older ones. Long John Baldry is up there with the Eggmen though, for all his ham and such.
I'm still thinking Sonic's newest voice could use some more tweaking, but it's better than it started off in the first couple games I think. And of course you have people who debate over HIS voice, but you know...that, and Amy doesn't sound so much like Minnie currently, so that's good.
I just appreciate that there is a lot less stilted/jarring/just plain dismal voice work in the series these days, outside of some examples. No more Knuckles and his "OH NO".

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...Roger Craig Smith is...fucking weirrrrrrrrd. He always sounds so fucking breathless. Even kinda...douchey. No wonder Sonic Zombie Sonic is basically a pisstake of Roger
Balena Productions hasn't been a very big fan of the Roger Craig Smith period, bahahaha. The same goes for the writing in the recent games, but that veers into YMMV since he felt Unleashed had the better writing I believe (though I can't say I totally disagree, as outside the werehog and junk I kinda felt the same way).

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...I like Roger Craig Smith a lot better than any of the past voice actors, honestly. But that's entirely because he isn't trying so hard for the "WAY PAST COOL" thing. He just does a decent, usually comedic, delivery and it works.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I felt he was kinda "douchey jock" sounding at first; I mean, I suppose they did kinda' lampshade that some of his dialogue was coming off as lame one-liners, but I found it almost cringe-worthy at times. I think now though he's settling down a bit.

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...I feel like RCS's delivery is far more natural than any of the prior Sonic VAs. He just seems to get that nice relaxed-yet-cocky tone that defines Sonic's attitude. I feel like Jaleel White also did that somewhat well to an extent.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Is Roger trying to sound out-of-breath on purpose? I meanI know Sonic runs a lot but I've nevernseen him worn-out from it.
Ah well. Kate Higgins was excellent as Tails. Aaaaand then was replaced for Sonic Boom. Because life just fucking sucks like that.
I find it funny that Beef that the episode that didn't edit out the infamous line flub is the one that gets pulled down to finish editting.
I've been waiting for that particular line for a long time now, because like them I can't believe it got in the final product. Was expecting more uproarious laughter, but the shock was just as good.
And I also like RCS's delivery as Sonic. Much more natural and cool than Griffith tryharding.
Oh it's not to say I found the past voice actors particularly great or such, it's just I felt that RCS's, while more in line with the character, came of as rather obnoxious when Colors came out, and not endearingly so. Though I partly blame the writing for the games, since I feel like a lot of the humor is rather...painfully forced. Except Eggman's PS Announcements, those were gold. Like I said, I grew on Roger come the games and media past that.
...Though I wouldn't oppose more of the bits of pantomime that both Modern and Classic got during those particular unlock scenes in Generations.

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...I'd like if they stopped making Knuckles such a gigantic moron too.
He's always been kinda dumb, honestly.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
Only four parts, and it's moving mighty swiftly.
About all I know about this is that (minor spoiler for one of the three future parts, not sure which) John Parker is in the game, and despite being thoroughly British in Shadow of the Comet, he's somehow sporting a very thick Southern American accent in this one (attention to detail!).
