Hero of Darkseed (and, most relevant to Retsupurae, Dark Seed 2) and an infamously massive loser in the sequel. The game goes out of its way to highlight how much Dawson fails at life, so of course the fandom harps on him years after they finished that long play.

At least Jogger Dave didn't become a meme.

Don't ask me, I can't even remeember any of these characters' names.

Stan and Shannon's voice actors just said fuck it half way through this game.

Not every fan is a long time watcher. A lot of new blood pours in regularly and goes on an Archive Binge. So far that portion of the viewer base the old memes aren't actually that old. It's a weird thing with the internet. Really big and popular memes spread everywhere and burn out fast. But in smaller fandoms memes can persist for years as long as there's a steady flow of new fans cycling in. It also helps that you don't here the same joke everywhere you go. Mike Dawson gets mentioned in just about every Retsupurae video's comments, but every single fucking video even tangentially related to cake or holes in space-time would have a hundred comments about The Cake is a Lie. It's easier to tolerate an overused joke or meme if you only see it in a specific place. Or just don't read the comments at all.

I'm just glad we found out that it was in fact Hopkins who killed Rita.

So if I understand correctly, Stan was in jail for a week for some white-collar crime, but that one week was enough to transform him into a cookie cutter raised-on-the-streets crook who is trying to turn his life around?

I thought it was Rion who killed Rita.

I am one of those "newblood" Retsupurae fans. I've watched some of their actual Retsupurae videos for years but I never watched a Wrongpurae until a few months ago. It was amazing and Mike Dawson is hilariously bad and should be joked about at every opportunity.

This whole game really is a spoof on the delusions of college life.

You know, I was thinking lately that Hopkins FBI is to cop games what Ride to Hell is to biker games (few as they are?). Both are dead stupid and exploit the female "characters" in creepy and illogical ways. I think that, if Angry Joe ever reviewed Hopkins FBI, he would have deja vu at how much idiot logic rules the day in that game, as he said it did in Ride to Hell. One key difference, though, is that it appears that the people behind Hopkins FBI actually thought they were making something good. They claimed that it's the game that Quentin Tarantino would make if he made a game (ego much, comparing yourself to Tarantino?). As for Ride to Hell, well... the developer responsible actually removed any mention of the game from their website. I hope that means that they were at least somewhat aware of how abominable the game they unleashed onto an unsuspecting public (and reviewers) was...
