This trope name is a prime example of TV Tropes taking a term from popular culture and running too far with it. It introduces itself as "a category of BSOD," and anyone not familiar with troper jargon will wonder why, since this trope has only a third-hand connection with blue screens of death, and even the definition's implied association with Heroic BSoD seems strained. Also, using "unmentionable" to mean undergarments doesn't really work when it's used like an adjective.

(There was a YKTTW for this, but it wasn't much of a discussion.)

Stripped In Public is my suggested rename title, though I'm not too confident in it.

Isn't this basically just a noncombat counterpart to Defeat by Modesty?

Yeah, this needs a rename. BSOD doesn't even properly describe the trope.

It seems like it's less about being stripped in public and more about completely freaking out about having been stripped in public.

I'd suggest Naked Freak-Out, but I think that would imply something else. Underdressed And Overreacting, maybe?

Oh No, I'm Naked!

Rhymes with "Protracted."

I want to make some pun on "shock and awe", but I can't think of anything ... (which is probably for the better.)

Maybe Denuded Shock, because the shock comes not strictly from being naked in public (the Innocent Fanservice Girl certainly wouldn't see a problem here), but being stripped in public.

Stockings and Awe is the best Shock and Awe pun I can think of, and I do not think that's a good title for this page.

Underdressed and Overreacting might work.

Definitely not Underdressed and Overreacting, which puts gratuitous blame on this trope's victims. How about Scandalously Stripped?

Recent YKTTW activity reminded me this still needs a rename.

Update: Alternative title crowner created. I think this is the first crowner I've ever made.

Well, one week later and the crowner didn't get linked, so it's a wonder even a few people have voted. The guidelines say to "ask a mod" but I don't know how to do that.

I thought of a few more. Some of these could probably be combined or modified, or different variations could be alternative titles (Stunned Nudity/Naked and Stunned, Embarrassment Breakdown/Humiliation Breakdown, etc.)

I think something with the word 'panic' or 'breakdown' might make it both descriptive and catchy, so to speak.

I'd like the alt-title crowner to accumulate a few more votes now.

Now that the crowner has stabilized, I did the rename to Naked Freak-Out.

Crown Description:

Vote up names you like, vote down names you don't. Whether or not the title will actually be changed is determined with a different kind of crowner (the Single Proposition crowner). This one just collects and ranks alternative titles.
