^^ It sounded like something that could easily be true.

Something was announced about the Tsukihime remake back in December along with Mahoyo; I forgot the specifics, but it basically says that it's still in production. I also heard that Mahoyo is likely a test for the new engine Tsukihime is going to run on.

Actually, is there even anywhere online where it's still possible to download Tsukihime? I had no problem downloading Fate/Stay Night, but Tsukihime is giving me a lot more trouble.

It's not hard to find. Erogedownload has it.

Its not impossible, but its hard. I believe you can find it on /a/'s NEWS irc packlist.

I preferred FSN to Tsukihime when I played it. I actually liked the squeal better than Tsukihime though.

Tsukihime didn't have enough Arcueid in it.

Erogedownload has some sort of Tsukihime download, but whereas it has the full prepatched Fate/Stay Night game, the Tsukihime page seems to have a download for the game, which requires you to have the patch first to use it, and a download for the patch, which requires you to have the game first to install it. It may be possible to get the game from the site, but I don't know how.

I got Tsukihime via torrent as a disk image; mounting and installing the patch worked fine. Might just search on Pirate Bay.

Torrents are your friend. The Pirate Bay still has the excellent untranslated copy I used going strong which comes with a marginally better soundtrack as well.

Hm? Either you install the game and then apply the patch, or the patch installs the game for you. I forget which. You don't need it prepatched for you.

Well, I found a torrent for the game, thanks. It was a pain to get it to work compared to Fate/Stay Night, but at least it seems to be running properly.

I should make more people read FSN just so they can appreciate Carnival Phantasm.

But FSN is already so massively popular. Relative to visual novels anyway. And you'd have to read Tsukihime as well. That one hasn't aged very well.

Why do you say it's a matter of age?

Personally I'm significantly less impressed with Tsukihime than Fate/Stay Night, but while it has rougher art and was clearly done on a smaller budget, I think those are only a small factor in the difference with which I'd rate their quality.

I wonder how much the remake will fiddle with the routes? There were some pacing issues that I bet Nasu would like to fix now. Still, even an art update would do wonders. It's hard to find Nero that impressive when you don't see him summoning dragons or wiping out a hotel without noticing. God, the images in my head of that and stuff like Shiki killing buildings or the earth around him are amazing.

And uh voice acting would help.

I've never enabled the voice acting on F/sn; I'm perfectly happy just reading the text and hearing the music. That said, though, an art and effects upgrade alone would do quite a bit for Tsukihime. (I like Tsukihime quite a bit already, but it's true it's not quite in F/sn's league.)

Rewatched a bit of Carnival Phantasm and found one of my favorite segments again:

Kotomine: Grail-kun! Lancer is absolutely useless because he keeps dying!

Grail-kun: *tosses knife* Servant strengthening kit! You should really kill him and make a new contract.

Kotomine: *picks up knife* You're absolutely right.

I turn off all VA in every VN I read.

I usually ignore the voice acting.

But the voice acting of the nukige I'm playing right now for Bile Fascination, Milk Pot, is pure gold.

It'll be best if you don't google it.

Eh. I just find the voice acting redundant with the text (especially since it's not actually in a language I can understand). If I want an anime, I'll watch an anime.

Good luck finding an anime of Heaven's Feel.
