I no longer want dubs of other Fate stuff. Every time I hear "Altria" I instinctively get revenge to punch something and a whole anime of that would become unbearable.
This song needs more love.Oh God the Heaven's Feel movie is totally gonna get dubbed with Altria right?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Here's the thing, though: Does it actually change the pronunciation of her name?
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Is Saber's name ever mentioned in Heaven's Feel?

Altria is also the name of an obscure goddess and has no actual connection with Arthur.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Say Artoria and Altria.
Yes, it changes the pronunciation drastically. This isn't the potato/tomato thing. This is "apple, potato".

And yet does Type Moon care?
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! The pronunciation only changes in the English language, they're close enough in Japanese
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.OK. Hate to derail the Artoria vs Altria debate, but... I saw and read the Fate/Zero manga...
I'm sorry, but Caster Gilles didn't deserve redemption (via Jeanne) in the end for THAT fucked-up shit...

A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. He wasn't redeemed at all. More specifically he was saved from his own sins or whatever. He was a terrible person through and through. Him being saved is less "Gilles was redeemed" and more "Jeanne is a saint"

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeGuess I interpreted that scene differently.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Hey, can anyone send me a save file for Realta Nua Heaven's Feel that's right after the route split and thus the OP? Mine keeps crashing on the OP and I can't fix it (seeing as how I basically never have internet on my computer) so I just need to bypass the crashing point.
If someone could PM the link to me, that'd be great.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Okay how the fuck can something not sound like a real name when it is a real name?
That's a fucking contradiction & an affront to language.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Saber deserves better than being named like a fucking tobacco company.
Except Altria doesn't sound like a real name even though it is, whereas Artoria does sound like a real name AND IS a real name.
That too
Even putting aside whether or not it is / is not a real name (it is), I honestly don't see how anyone, aside from people who don't understand English, can look at "Altria" and think it's supposed to be a variation of Arthur. At all.

This song needs more love.x4 and x2 Are you serious? I would buy someone being named Altria before I ever bought the name Artoria even if the latter is a real name while the former is fake.
I never tried to claim that Altria is derived from Author because it isn't. My argument is that to me it sounds more like a real name than Artoria and thus is a better translation.

This is not the Type Moon hill I want to die on
There has been one thing what I have been wondering a bit and that is about the Moon. More specifically, if all the things in the Moon might relate to different Moon-related mythos. There are multiple gods of the Moon, few myths have people who live in there like Chang'e and the lunar people from Tale of the Bamboo Cutter etc. Maybe there has been some lore what I haven't read yet, but you get the idea.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!the Moon is a very powerful symbol and concept in folklore and mythology, especially Japan, so of course Nasu will milk it for all it’s worth
I just think it’s funny that Type Moon cosmology is really ancient aliens conspiracy except I totally buy it
Like a name for a person? Are you sure about that? I'm asking seriously because the only thing Google and Wikipedia are giving me is the tobacco company. No disambiguation or anything.

Plus Artoria was already used in the Fate/Zero dub, so there's no reason for them switch names all of a sudden. This is the kind of practice that was commonplace with translators in the 80s, not the 2010s.
Irrelevant, but I finished the seven main Kara no Kyoukai movies the other night. And you know how even-numbered Star Trek movies are the "good" ones and vice versa? I felt the opposite with KnK.
