I liked the story bit for chapter 14 where Assassin Emiya has gone all out in killing Iri and tries to directly assault Irisviel and we have to defend her while Battle is to the Strong plays to make the battle more dramatic but for the gameplay bit all he did was spam his arts buff over and over and only attacked my party about four times.

I like Assassin Emiya. Because fuck yeah, Kerry. If god damn Waver can be a servant, why not him. Plus his battle sprite reminds me of Dark Souls 3, and a free Servant is always nice. But eeeeh, I might have liked Iskander better if he didn't take up a third of the screen because of his stupid horse, and if he wasn't kind of a meh unit. And the story is kind of meh.
Oh, and I think Angry Manjew's ascension looks horrifyingly terrible. I mean seriously, wut? Is it supposed to match up with the blue holy grail from the UBW anime or something?

Waver isn't a Servant. Waver is acting as a receptacle for Zhuge Liang. Kinda like Jeanne in Apocrypha.
Excuses, excuse plot, whatever you call it, it's still Waver's body and Waver's personality with new powers who devolves into his bratty, younger self for nothing but fan service. And I'm pretty sure the case with Jeanne was different, not that I finished reading Apocrypha. At least his adult form has a kick ass suit.

Well the reason Jeanne need to hijack a body was because the last Ruler was still walking around.
Jeanne needed to hijack a body pretty damn similar to her original form iirc, and becomes the dominant personality. 'Zhuge Liang' just feels like an excuse. Mind you, the Jeanne case sounds like a dumb excuse to nerf the main character's powers and abilities, Nasu style, but at least it isn't fan service. Okay, Jeanne is pretty fan-servicey but that's not what I meant.
It doesn't help my saltiness that he's so fucking good in game too.

The real purpose of Pseudo-Servants is to allow the summoning of gods, or something. Hence why we've also apparently got Ishtar and Parvati.
So Zhuge Liang being one is kinda weird.

Nah, their REAL purpose is to allow the summoning of characters we know and love, hence "Parvati" and "Ishtar" really just being Sakura and Rin.
With that said, IIRC in-universe they wanted Zhuge but he just didn't give enough of a shit to come by himself if the Shu aren't involved.
