Uwe Boll's "Auschwitz"

It had a Nazi standing next to a door of a gas chamber as jews banged to be let out. Then the scene went to inside the chamber as the naked jewish people screamed. Scene cuts to young boy screaming, then naked dead body being put into furnace. There was a scene of a jewish man getting his teeth pulled out somewhere in there. Can't remember where.

That's not racist. That's historically accurate, if a bit toned down.

^I would scream that the end is nigh and that God is dead if Boll ever wins an Oscar.

This, yeah.

Accuracy in a Uwe Boll film...

He made a point of having the Nazi guard actually nodding off to sleep while standing outside the gas chamber door which added a layer of artistic thought that people would not have you expect from him.

However, he also made the decision to play the Nazi guard.

Oh shit.

For as much as it is quite easy for me to simply not watch an Uwe Boll film, it is harder for me to not hear or read comments made about them and I fear the results of the internet seeing Uwe Boll as a gas chamber attendant.

Uwe Boll winning an oscar, Duke Nukem Forever leaving Development Hell... yep, the apocalypse is nigh.

I think Atom James is broken.

Also, I think Gabriel Gloom is on to something.

I know about Oscar Bait. I'm just hoping this is an exception to the rule. I can dream, can't I?

But it's an Uwe Boll film. It's an irresistible force and immovable object kind of scenario.

It won't be the apocalypse until it turns out Duke Nukem Forever will be released for the Phantom.

Yeah, we definitely broke Atom James.

It's okay, Atom. We're hurting with you. You're not alone in this.

It looks like the first Uwe Boll movie that's faithful to the source material.

Has there been a movie with a similar idea (portaying Nazi atrocities in an utterly blunt, graphic realistic style) in recent years? I feel dirty saying this, but Boll might actually pull this off.

My soul weeps and bleeds. A good director could struggle with doing this right. But Uwe Boll?! I'm really afraid of seeing that trailer. Especially since I'm afraid this is going to be his freaking stab at making a Saw-like film.

At what point does a movie stop being gruesomely realistic and accurate and turn into exploitative "torture-porn'?

Whether he screws the pooch or produces a masterpiece, this will be a very interesting movie...

Maybe he'll finally kill the trend of making World War II movies solely based on the Holocaust. We already have a ton, not to mention the dozens of Anne Frank based movies, maybe ol' Boll'll finally brain it.

The trailer would have been effective if it had stopped at about half the length (the view through the window would have been a good cut-to-black spot.)

I'm utterly terrified of what this is going to turn into. I feel like Uwe Boll is going to treat this as a joke. It already feels like a really bad joke.
