Rename Most Common Superpower?

Go To

I did a bit of research on this, and it seems to be being used for large boobs in general.

Which I would guess is a problem with the page, not the name. Call me crazy, but I don't think people are missing the superpowers bit due to the name Most Common Superpower.

Okay, if it isn't clear, I say we work on the page first.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

That's for the best, reworking the definition I mean.

Incidentally, Should we try to make sure this doesn't mesh too much with Boobs Of Steel or will there be a potential merge?

If we can work out the meaning, they'll be related, but different. Isn't Boobs Of Steel just "The strongest girl has the biggest boobs?"

They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?

Boobs Of Steel is about how the girl with the biggest breast is the strongest.

Most Common Superpower is about how girls with powers beyond mortals have big breasts in general.

Much better. Now we just have to clean up the examples and wicks...

I just added the Calvin And Hobbes quote back because the name doesn't make much sense without it.

Otherwise, this is good.

I removed both the quotes. Both reference things that are not really the trope.

The problem with the C&H quote is that Hobbe's question is not the trope. It gives the wrong context.

That's another reason I still say it's going to need a rename.

Except that the problem with Most Common Superpower as a name is the superpower part which is actually listed in the trope name, not the big breasts part which is instead inferred.

The Calvin and Hobbes quote may explain where the name came from but contributes to the confusion. The point of page quotes is to make the trope clearer.

I'm starting to remove bad examples.

How tight should our definition of "superhero" be? Classic cape-and-spandex, or something a bit broader?

Yes, otherwise it'd be too specific and be too limited, I would think.

I can see it being spread a little too thinly, though. Most of the anime characters listed do not appear to be superheros to me, even arguably, but I don't know enough about most to be 100% sure.

Well, the desciption says "This most common of metahuman attributes..." So non-humans don't count. I'd say neither do humans like mages in a world where magic is treated as a learnable power.

I usually just refer to them as "Having no powers...other than the most common..."

EDIT: I guess it depends on whether or not said heroine can be described as being heroic or not.
