RNG or not, the mog with less than 60 cards is hell because unless you get the Reverse rule, there are many of his cards that you simply cannot take with 2-stars, since those only go up to 7.

Beating the NPC is not that hard, it's farming that is hellish for the rare cards. I wonder if they changed the loot rates on the GC NPC, because I think I abandoned after 200+ wins against Vorsaile without getting Kan-E-Senna.

The Heavensward cards are no better in drop rates.

So non-savage Alex now drops 4 items per kill, so now half the raid will get something per, that is awesome.

Still not going back. We have esoterics now so Alex NM is pointless.

Esoterics is going to take forever and a day to fully gear up one job, so you might as well run Alex anyway to get temp gear.

I actually have a lot of fun doing Alex bosses, that music!, and this week I was 4 for 4 no repeating of bosses for loot.

Yeah, Alexander's a lot of fun. I'm just not gonna stress myself out over grinding for loot every week. My current game plan is to just get full i190 accessories from A1 and A2 and focus on the Esoterics armor, and maybe go back for glamor when the weekly lockout is eventually removed.

Mm, got dat DRG AF 2 chest today and it is fine. Matches pretty nicely with the drachen so I'll wear those parts together for now until I get the rest.

Trying to clear T5 with PUGs is like having a word on the tip of your tongue, and you know the shape and sound and feel of the word right on your lips... And then you get beaned in the face with a brick.

Had the best set of Divebomb dodges yet with my latest PUG; the first three were evaded completely perfectly. The second set, in the middle of the snake spawns.. Not so much. We even got Asclepius down once, but then enough DPS had died that we couldn't burn down the Dreadknight before it started murdering. For the short time we were in the Twister phase, the Twisters weren't actually so bad, since everyone was running about.

Seriously, that run felt so close to a breakthrough I practically started shaking.

How long are the DF queues for T5? It really might be worth using the PF instead, you tend to get more competent players that way, or at least players more willing to coordinate.

[up] Spent 2 hours in DF last night for T1-5 as a healer and gave up.

Yeah, the issue is that I don't think people who look through PF will be interested in guiding people to a clear in T5. DF people at least tend to be interested in clearing, but are also generally incompetent.

Well, as I said, I joined a T5 PF the other week and things were totally fine. I actually can't remember if it was for farm or clear (I think it was farm), but it's easy enough now that I wouldn't have minded if someone was new, I think they would have got the hang of it after a few tries.

That aside, it was the only T5 PF party I have seen... ever, maybe. I still say you should create one, and just leave it up while you do something else, see who joins. You might be surprised. I bet there are other people in need of T5 for whatever reason who also don't think anyone else wants to run it. Even though you need your clear for it, say in the description that you know all the phases (which I think you do), and probably people won't mind. I know I wouldn't.

I upgraded to Windows 10 last night and this game runs pretty much the same as it did on Windows 8.1. Anyone else make the leap?

Brain Scratch Commentaries is doing a sponsored playthrough of the game.

Gajin Goomba was also asked by Square to do a video of the game. It seems Square is really trying to get the word out about FF 14 and the expansion pack through well known Youtubers.

I broke down and finally used my veteran reward Fantasia. I've been playing an Elezen woman since I started, but it's really hard finding gear that looks nice on her, since Elezen bodies are ever so Uncanny Valley because of their height.

So I just copied Y'shtola and rolled a Miqo'te woman. I think we look nice posing together XD.

It was nice to get Yshtola back. Starting in Limsa Lominsa meant I was closest to her of all the Scions, and half-guessed what was wrong when she returned.

[up] That was definitely one of the nicer touches of Heavensward's story: focusing on specific characters and interactions. A Realm Reborn was an epic, sprawling journey, but it felt kinda swamped and crowded at times. I liked how you built up a small adventuring band in Heavensward.

That's what makes Estinien and Ysayle's fates so sad: you could see that they were on the verge of becoming Fire-Forged Friends throughout the Forelands and the Churning Mists, but the revelations at Zenith tore them apart and they never had a chance to reconnect before everything hit the fan. I really hope we can save the both of them over the course of 3.X.

I am not sure about Ysayle coming back. Her body practically disintegrated into a cloud of aether. I think her sacrifice should remain as such since it leaves a powerful impact on that scene by showing how far Ysayle and come and how far she had also fallen at the same time. If Square brings her back like they did with Nanamo (which I still believe was a major ass pull that undone the powerful melting point in 2.5), we might as well laugh at every character that "dies" in this game. I think Ysayle played out her part and don't really know what else she can offer since her character was pretty much "done" at this point.

[up] Well, not resurrected per se, but she did sort of primal-ize herself. It's certainly a viable plot point if we continue to explore the nature of primals throughout the 3.X MSQ. But yeah, it's more an idle wish than an actual desire—akin to the "save Aerith" parts of the FFVII fandom: nice to think about, fun to explore in discussions and fanfics, but not really serious.

On Nanamo, I'm tolerating it so long as we get actual resolution to the Monetarist plot in 3.X. As it stands, it helps build up Lolorito more as a villain, a master manipulator who got what he wanted by giving the heroes what they thought they wanted. But it needs to be seriously resolved; another gambit on that scale and Lolorito will officially move to cheap Gambit Roulette levels of plot hax.

Basically, I'm hoping Omega is related to the 24-man raids for 3.X and that we'll see serious progress regarding the internal issues wrought by the Monetarists.

I don't see omega weapon ever really becoming a boss, it will make pvp pointless, we will see Emerald and Diamond weapons first. Now the crystal braves are a direct threat unlike Lolorito and need to be dealt asap with with a dungeon... Seriously how the Scions arnt trying to get revenge and deal with such a direct threat escapes me especially if some of them actually did die in that trap, it is such a dropped plot line it's not even funny. Although I seriously I doubt anyone actually did die with the way those scenes were shot and their lack of impact after said scenes though.

[up] I don't think Square Enix is even trying to justify PVP any more, since Seize basically has no story basis besides the three Grand Companies fighting over Allagan data tomeliths on a random island off La Noscea.

I see three general plot threads for 3.X: Nidhogg and Estinien, Lolorito and the Monetarists and Omega (since it was one of Teledji's motivating factor), and finding the missing Scions. There's also Alexander and any curveballs Square might be considering to eventually lead up to 4.0 (most likely something involving the Garleans and their new emperor), but those are the ones I can imagine off the top of my head.

The thing is no one actually seems to care about the missing, I mean seriously they only went looking for one scion because they needed her and not a single mention of pretty much any one else or even worries about them. No false leads no nothing.

'my friends and closest allies are missing, who cares! I'm off slaying dragons for people I hardly know'.
