I don't think anyone's gonna beat that 7 warrior 1 scholar run of T13.

Although my server did a 24 warrior Wo D run.

Where do you get the required healing for such a group? I know Warriors have limited self-healing, but it can't possibly be enough to survive a raid, and unless I am mistaken, potions and so on will not be sufficient either.

I haven't read the details, however in theory, you could chain tank-swaps so that no one Warrior is taking the brunt of attacks for longer than they can survive. I've played enough Warrior to know that with good cooldown usage, you can go as much as a couple minutes with a healer on the floor.

Good lord. I just ran Castrum Meridiens for the first time, and I performed about as poorly as I have in a dungeon since I started playing. I was just completely useless as a warrior compared to everyone else there - although I think they were all there for the tomestones. Especially annoying: during the second half of the fight with Livia, I just couldn't pull aggro off the healer no matter how much I spammed.

Also, if anyone on Brynhildr is free this weekend, I'm trying to set up a cutscene-friendly Praetorium run.

Do you have max rank in your Grand Company? Pick up an i55 weapon from there.

Better yet, can you afford to buy an i70 one from the market? Weapon damage is going to be the most important stat for you at the moment.

As a tank hitting 50 this late in the patch cycle, you're going to have it rough against all the people with much better gear than you and many of them will not be kind to the newbie. Your first priority once you clear Praetorium should be picking up your relic weapon, then upgrading it with Thanavarian Mist as soon as possible. That'll get you an i80->i90 weapon. You can do it in a few hours now since all the high level people farming hardmode primals makes for fast runs and they're 8-mans that you can off-tank (still look up the stratigies though so you know them, especially Titan.)

If you have friends that can help with the crafting, you might consider i90 crafted armor. You need an average i90 gear level to be able to clear the last chapters of the post-50 main story. Alternately, you'll want to unlock and farm Crystal Tower for the i80 and i100 drops from the first two parts while unlocking the various dungeons and farming tomestones.

Where does it even list item level?

Above where it lists the level you can equip the gear.

Here's a list for the tank set with the option to get a materials list. You can save gil by buying materials and then using Party Finder/shouting in Mor Dhona to find a crafter to assemble them for you, though crafting everything from base materials can take a lot of time. On my server the most expensive component is the Tawny Latex/Terminus Putty cause it's used int a lot of stuff. Include in the cost the crafting buff food they will need, usually HQ Boullibase. The cost of the crafter's time may vary; some will negotiate a price in gil whole others prefer tips in the form of things like shards, food and extra materials.

Do note that even this won't solve all your tanking problems (especially since I can't see you play your character) but it will ease the bumps and help you meet the gear minimum for finishing the post-Praetorium storyline faster.

Huh, I was actually able to get the benchmark running on my 7 year old dinosaur of a laptop. Now I have a pretty good idea of what my character will look like come June.

Oh yeah, so I kinda forgot about this: do hunts. Go to your grand company and unlock the weekly and daily mark bills and do those. Find a day when S-ranks are spawning (roughly every 48 hours, or 24 hours after a server restart) and watch party finder for when parties are appearing (if you aren't in a full party it's hard to get full credit). The weekly mark is 100 seals, as are S-ranks; A-ranks are 40 seals, and you can buy the same gear you buy for soldiery tomes for 300-600 Allied Seals each.

I don't bother with A and S marks anymore. Everyone just zergs them to death and there's no good rewards for me that are worth doing.

I don't either (though there is glamour stuff I want ) but there are a couple groups of people who should pay attention to them: one is people needing to catch up on gear and one is those after Alexanderite for relics.

Argh, I forgot you could buy alexandrite with the Hunt currency. I knew there was a reason for me to do hunts. In any case, yes, people do rush the A and S marks, so I don't bother going for them unless I am already in the area when I hear the shout, or if I am the one who actually finds it.

and considering you get a good chunk of seals for doing B marks and daily hunts, you don't have to do the A and S hunts as much.

Yeah, they doubled the rewards for bills a couple of patches ago. It's still not loads, but better than it used to be.

Back then, hunts were popular sorely because of the blood splattered log books, which you needed to get the sands and oils of time so that you could upgrade your tomestone gear to ilvl 110. Once everyone got their upgrades, people stopped doing the hunts and it was actually a challenge to fight the A and S marks with far fewer people. When the second version of the log was pushed out in patch 2.5, the history with hunts started all over again for ilvl 130 gear. I knew to never bother doing the hunts JUST to upgrade my gear because I knew Square would release the upgrade items in the World of Darkness.

I didn't even know you could get the i130 upgrade materials from hunts. I was just doing the weekly Crystal Tower raids for it. Need to get back to those, actually. Hell, one of my characters isn't even full i120 yet.

The upgrade to ilvl130 via hunts was done before the weekly Crystal Tower quest was implemented.

Like I said, I had no idea that was a thing :P Probably because I never paid much attention to hunts once it became apparent how horrible people are in them.

IMO it was worse during the carboncoat run than it was during the initial run-up. People wouldn't even bother calling. They'd just run up and snipe a hunt with their little gagglefuck group.

Don't remind me. Every fucking day on the forums there would always be people bitching about it, followed by people telling them to deal with it. Hunts aren't even that fun until you fight them with less people. They have a lot of mechanics that no one sees cause it gets zerged to death.

Yes. I just came out of Wo D on an alt. It was awful. We wiped on everything, almost twice on the Cloud.
