Done with the first history class, and already having several Oh, Crap! moments. A big project that I must get a question of by the 21st of January, along with a response to the reading.

Well I finally started writing up my first short story for the semester,..I think it's coming along fairly well.

Couldn't get in weight room session like I hoped though

Probably should start up Math homework, before I get overwhelmed. Same with Comparative Politics and the silly Enlightenment class I have to take.

Nothing for Stagecraft as far as I know and thank goodness because right now,it's just so difficult trying to wrap my head around these things,...might have to drop it.

Three big exams ahead: complex function theory, signals & systems and linear algebra. Whoopee.

Well now that my birthday is over,...it's back to homework.

But hey I do have a good 400 words for a 1500 word short that isn't due until Thursday if that means anything.

Oh, happy birthday!

One of my classes was cancelled for the first week because our professor wasn't here yet. It's a night class, so I was less busy than usual. Starting next week, I will be spending more time at school than home.

Cheers! smile

Over 100 dollars for textbooks for a single subject?

Amazon time.

[up][up] I know that feel.

One of my textbooks last session costed twice the price of all the others put together.

Don't you have rental options?

Usually I don't get rentals because used + buyback amounts to basically the same price, but the past two quarters provided exceptions.

I do, but I don't like renting. I have to own. Due to my lack of attention, I have to underline, highlight, and attach loads of post-its, so rental is not an option for me. There is no used ones for this one either.

Related peeve: when they require you to buy textbooks with attached, one-use-only online access codes to books, forcing you to buy new (or you could just not do homework for the class at all, but that'd mean accepting the consequent grade hit...).

Usually you can buy the codes separately from the publisher's website.

Of course, this will cost almost as much as buying the book new, but hey, I never claimed textbook companies weren't despicable scum.

The school bookstore is pretty despicable too. I wasn't expecting a great buyback price from them in the first place, but they offered me $2 for a book that I bought from them for $32...luckily I found another student to sell it to directly.

They're also despicable for sneakily attaching online access cards that are usable for 2 years to each of the 3 volumes of the gen chem textbook and hoping that people accidentally purchase three of the $60+ cards when they only need one. *

I should find some way to sell my textbooks. I don't care how much money I get (although the more the better), I need to make some space in my dorm.

Went to an information meeting about studying abroad for a semester (or two). Taking an LLM (Master of Laws) sounds very interesting.
