How to create your own troper page
Note: if you started with a handle beginning with a number or containing an non-alphanumeric, you need to make a handle beginning with a letter and only containing alphanumerics.
- Click on your name in a forum post of yours or click your profile picture on the upper right corner of the screen and select "Troper Page" from the drop down menu.
- On the page that appears, click on the edit button.
- Edit the page. If you want markup help, click on the "Show Markup Help" button.
- Save your changes.
- You're done. Congratulations! Give yourself a cookie.
I would also like to know how can I add tropes to my page.
Thanks a lot in advance!

If you're trying to set it for the username you're currently using, it's because you don't seem to have actually created your Troper page.
Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)Hey, thanks for the help! I've been needing this for awhile.
Yeah, I know what your thinking! don't lie I can see it in your eyesSo I just click on my own link?
Right so the thing that says whter I am a contributer or not doesn't appear to be popping up. I've been on Tvtropes for a year or two but its just now that I'm actually trying to contribute so please excuse my Newbishness
You need to set the page type from the tools menu. Did it for you.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffHello, everyone. I already have my Troper page set up, and it's findable in the contributors list. What I'd like to know is how to add a pic to my Troper page, like Fast Eddie has on his.
3 things to choose from w/ any and all deliveries: Price, quality, ETA. Pick two and only two.If the image is already on the server, you simply need to find the URL and paste it in your page. If the image is not on the server, use the Image Uploader and follow the instructions from there.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Thank you, Kris. The info was very helpful.

I'm having problems getting this to work. I've tried the Tools > Set Page Type > a contributor. with no success. I've also attempted to directly edit what I assume is my troper page without success (it's the page I'm sent to whenever I click on my currently redlinked name).

"Cookies need love like everything does."I can edit it just fine and it's not locked. What happens when you click the edit button, type some stuff in, then save?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It just goes back to the Mr Haywire page, which is unaltered. There is also text that says "Click the edit button to start this new page."
It could be possible that I haven't properly added a link to the contributors page. <<|The Contributors|>> That's what I'm using as a link.

"Cookies need love like everything does."This is really weird now. My troper handle (displayed above my image) is blue text instead of red text. My troper page has been set to the contributor type. I am also listed on the Contributors index page. However, I still cannot edit my troper page (which I am attempting to do by copy-pasting from a word document. I go to my troper page, click edit page, paste the information, and everything looks fine in the preview). Still, saving the changes has no effect.
There is a message on the edit page that says "Checked out until such and such a time. If you do not save your changes before then, they may be lost." And it's well past that time. Could that be the problem, and if so, does anyone know how to deal with it?
"Cookies need love like everything does."Can you edit other wiki pages? We may have to have Fast Eddie take a look. Also try making Sandbox.Mr Haywire and pasting the text into that. Maybe it's a problem with the text you're using.
Edit: I can edit the page just fine. Does the markup you're trying to use have external URL's in it? If so you might be running into our spam blocker.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It works now. The sandbox page, my troper page. Everything. I seriously don't know what the hell is happening.
Thanks for the help though. If it's any consolation I wouldn't have posted the Contributors link w/o prompting.

"Cookies need love like everything does."It was the You Tube link. New accounts are blocked from posting any edits that contain external URL's for a period of time. It's an anti-spam measure.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"i just fixed up my profile with the instructions here. Thanks all!
Posting to get a link to my page and start working with it... I hope I'm doing it right.
spy_yes01.wavStill mega confused.
Help?
What the hell ?Steffi (@94): You had done most of the work correctly — and (since I was already there) I went ahead and set the Page Type on your page to "a contributor". You should be on the Contributor list now.
I am not a mod, and I don't play one on TV.I'm having the same problem. I tried typing the address with troper/bettername2come, but it didn't work.
Fixed it for you, Bettername. The tool to set page type is in the Tools pulldown on the left side of the page. Using that to set the page type to "a contributor" automagically adds the page to the Contributors index.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Okay, I think I did something wrong when creating my own troper page.
I went from the main page and typed 'Moonrose' in URL, but then I freaked out slightly and may or may not have gone into a slight panic mode because I forgot to put 'Tropers' instead of Main, and did I do something wrong?
If so, how do I fix it?
Moonrose That is the one I created.
This seemed the best place to put it.
EDIT: Yes, I did do that incorrectly. I am sorry.

I need help because when I click on the link on my name it just goes to the home page.
best sig 2014That's because it starts with a number. Create your page at Tropers.Nine Thousand, custom title it as 9000, and link it in your signature.
Hi. I tried going to Tools -> Set Page Type -> Contributor to make myself a contributor, but I tried it several times and it doesn't seem to save the change.
