What? It's not supposed to air until the 6th.
And Tamers is the best of the franchise.
@ Chronix No digimon savers was THE best. Had the best fights, the best soundtrack and the closest anime chuck norris since the great captain falcon. Every other digimon series has looked way childish and silly to me since digimon savers.
Frontier was damn terrible. The concept of team work was thrown flat out in the last part when it was only emperor greymon and magna garurumon. It introduced so many forms that they became so abundantly wasteful even more so in digimon. Seraphimon who was supposed to be extraordinarily powerful was taken out like a bitch by cherubimon and later by that evil warrior. I couldn't really care less about the characters even the whole brothers separated from birth.
01 was the first so yeah it was all good. But 02 was just near terrible. It gave all the oldies their powers back and then promptly took them away again. I will never get over the imperialdramon paladin mode nonsense. Also the ending was uber lame with the epilogues which didn't make so much sense. I mean sora and matt, wtf. Or T.K and tai's sister not hooking up. Let's not forget armour evolution culminating in the awesome magnamon who was never to be seen again until the movie where they somehow knew how to bring him back. Or the fact they then went to DNA digivolve after doing away with most of the armour concept. In other words way too many forms.

A wish is never free.Hmm. Digimon. Which season had the giant pink jelly in Tokyo at the end? That was the last season I watched.
Looking forward to this. Season 4 and 5 exceeded my expectations greatly, so I hope this keeps up Digimon's great track record.
season 2 was the worst, but not by much :P
I liked Savers =( And would probably like Tamers too, but I never found all episodes streamed...(Frontier is probably worst, though, I don't dislike it.)
Which season had the giant pink jelly in Tokyo at the end?
Tamers.
I like Savers and Tamers both, but it looks pretty good.
Digimon Adventure>Digimon Tamers>Digimon Adventure 02>Digimon Savers>Digimon Frontier. That's how I see it.
I don't know where this new one will fit in. The three kids and their digimon look pretty generic. But those two human antagonists look cool.
Hmm. Digimon. Which season had the giant pink jelly in Tokyo at the end? That was the last season I watched.
The D Reaper....*shudders*

Let's all post our lists!
Digimon Adventure 02 >Digimon Adventure> Digimon Tamers> Digimon Frontier > Digimon Savers
But really, I liked them all except for Data Squad it stopped being "Digimon Anime" and just became "anime" Ugh.

Closet DCLAU fan.Tamers > Adventure > Frontier > 02 > Savers
I hope Cross Wars is a lot better than Savers was.
There should be some sort of law. Every Digimon thread devolves into a discussion about which reason was best.
Also Tamers > Savers > 01 > Frontier > 02 bitches!

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Your soul shall be mine! 02 had the crossover, the Digimon World Tour and some of the most kick-ass digivolutions since Frontier.
Closet DCLAU fan.Digimon Adventure 1 and 2 are my favorites. (Probably because I only saw half of Tamers and none of the other series. )
Also have they released a trailer of Xros Wars yet?

@ Chronix Yes the dub Digimon Data Squad was the single worst dub of digimon ever. But the japanese Digimon Savers was awesome. Seriously what's with you guys. Did you skip the whole ikuto saga? Did you not cheer when Masaru gave his burning fist of justice into Kurata's massive face. Or how his punches look so much like falcon punch. This Anime was all about the cheering. Its all about saying "YYYEEEEEEESSS!" when they all power up and kick ass. The other ones had real boring spam attack like in 01/02 and the rest. But in this one it had cool heroic moments like Geo Greymon dueling with Gallantmon which didn't run over two episodes until it got boring unlike gallantmon vs beelzemon. Did i mention the awesomeness of Banchouleomon? He's what perfectly defines this show. Something familiar made totally bad ass with a more-than-meets-the-eye story and amazing feats like holding up an entire world!
Digimon Savers > 01 > 02 > tamers > frontier
Tamers was near terrible. I really don't care about Jerry as she spends nearly 10 eps moaning over her fate. The villain was some vague skynet which brought no real emotion or tension to it. Just a big blob that would cover the earth. Plus calumon as the catalyst was totally unecessary when it was there really as a popular plush toy. The pacing of the first half was pretty terrible involving problems which magically solve themselves or don't really matter later on like when Growlmon was stuck in its form until a rainbow reversed it. Takato didn't have much personality and his biggest resolute moement was when he pronounced his love of Jerry. That in it its self is a problem because then he becomes like every other hero who just recues the girl. These characters were not as devleoped as the ones in Savers other than being shitty neon genesis evangelion mop stories, about how weak and helpless they all are.

A wish is never free.Since we're posting our preferences...
Adventures > Data Squad > Tamers > Frontier Adventure 02
Adventures is my favourite because it has a lot of my favourite characters in the franchise. Tai, Matt, Agumon/Wargreymon, The Dark Masters... Hell, everybody who a semi important role and up. It had a great story to me, from kids lost in a foreign world and trying to survive monster attacks in a new environment, to saving their own world from Digi-invaders, to saving the Digital World from ruin THEN fighting what should have been the single most powerful enemy at the time, but was curb stomped rather unbelievably, sadly... Plus the ending, while sad, at least gave you a feeling that the digidestined would meet their digimon again someday (At least when you were... I dunno, 8?)
02... While I still like it, I realised that it's former status of 'second best' in my eyes was mostly nostalgia. While it had the original characters, they were rather downplayed. Understandable, since they had new characters to introduce, and T.K. and Kari could fill the mentor roles. But the new characters didn't feel as great as the original. Davis (Whose resemblance to Tai I just can't see) was an annoying idiot who didn't have that natural leadership that Tai had, Cody felt bland (Mainly due to his boring design, and Yolei was just Izzy if he was annoying. Their Digimon didn't seem to great either. Flamedramon and Magnamon were cool, but the others were all 'meh'. Plus there was many, many mistakes littered throughout. But at least this season had Black Wargreymon.
As for the movies of this season, the (Dub) movie was kickass. While it may have severely altered the story lines by putting three together and cutting parts out, It still felt like a coherent story (Except the last part, no matter what, it'll never make sense) The middle section (Our War Game) was one of the most amazing parts of the franchise. It was an epic race against time (On more than the missile front) against an enemy that could attack while the digimon was digivolving. That is awesome. (Tried the Japanese version btw. The music and and lack of Calling Your Attacks just made it... weird) And the Other Diaboromon movie... It was just bad.
Tamers. Years ago, I didn't like it because it did away with the original cast, making them pretty much fiction within fiction (At least the actual anime wasn't a show in Tamers) The cast was pretty good more the most part. No one was overly annoying, the digimon were pretty cool and likeable, but the card thing I didn't like too much (At least it didn't play too large a role, especially later) Jeri and the whole D-Reaper business was pretty dark, especially for a kids show. I was surprised it was even dubbed. If I had seen it all those years ago, I would've been traumatised by Jeri's nightmares :/
By the way, does anyone feel like the producers went with that 'alternate reality' thing T.K. mentioned in 02? About many different worlds that could possibly intertwine. Until I bother to play the wonderswan games, that's how I'm seeing how Canon Immigrant Ryo is in Adventures and Tamers.
Frontier Time. At first, I wasn't sure I would like it at all, seeing as it did away with the usual formula, but I was pleasantly surprised. The characters were great, the Digimon Spirit guys were pretty cool (Especially the Greymon forms. It's like they were blessed with Wargreymon's awesomeness or something) The enemy Spirit guys were decent enough villains. Nothing too spectacular (Although Mercurymon gets points for his Stronger form), Cherubimon seems to be a villain everywhere, but he was cool enough here, the Royal Knights seemed too strong. Shouldn't legendary spirits EVENTUALLY beat them? It's not like they're Omnimon or anything...
Finally, Data Squad (Yes, I'm using the dub name). Might as well get this out of the way... Citramon, while rather stupid, was a creative way to censor a bomb digimon. It's not like they had a choice, and I'd rather have Citramon than a cut episode. Besides, it's not like this has entered the Kurata or Royal Knight Arc yet Again, great characters, cool digimon, yadda yadda. Nothing new to say except: If Keenan was raised by Digimon who speak perfect english, why is his speech broken? Where's the sense in that?
Oh dear, I seem to have rambled on over something no one will want to read...
If this gets dubbed they had better not fuck it up at all.
(Or at least not too much)
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table~Fat chance of the dub not having the music changed, but Data Squad actually had a somewhat decent soundtrack.
I do not know what to say about this.
In terms of which ones I like the most:
Digimon 02 > Digimon Tamers > Digimon 01 > Digimon Frontier > Digimon Savers
In terms of which ones I think are best in terms of quality:
Digimon Tamers > Digimon 01 > Digimon 02 > Digimon Savers = Digimon Frontier
In any case, I'm interested to see how this one turns out.

I like how one of the main digimon's evolutions has a whole bunch of drills.

Since when were you under the impression that I was Aizen?Just to throw my ten cents in:
Digimon Savers = Digimon Tamers>Digimon Adventure>Digimon Frontier>Digimon Adventure 02
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this (although I probably won't be able to watch it for ages, due to, well, it being in Japanese and fan dubs probably taking a while to come out).
So far, the most interesting part of this series is the fact that it seems to prove how adaptable the Digimon concept is: not only has it pulled off typical Shonen adventures (the first two seasons and Savers, the mangas), but also the rather NGE-like Tamers, Sentai-esque series (Frontier), and now finally Giant Robots. It's like those monsters can do pretty much any damn genre they want.
Fixed. And because they are digital/made of data there is no reason that they can't be in any genre you can imagine.
...Now I have images of a Digimon version of Kenichi in my head and I think it works
Edit: Or One Piece would work to...

Finally A Digimon show that's actually good.
(02/01 was the best, Frontier was great and Tamers was alright, Savers/Data Sqaud was just atrocius)
It seems to be taking a more Lord Of The Rings style approach showing, rather than a Ragtag Bunchof Misfits an organized war against an Evil Empire. The first episode is up, I'm surprised it doesn't have a page yet. (It took Hero Man like what, five chapters?)
