Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I'm fighting Penance for the FFX clean sweep and I forgot how little room for error there is. Even with maximum strength and agility you have just enough turns to kill the arms before they act.
I also forgot that KO removes the MP 0 effect and Cheer etc.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I've been watching a playthrough of Final Fantasy X for the past couple of weeks. It's by a You Tuber that I'm subscribed to. I'm really enjoying the story and the characters are interesting.
I have to wonder though. Why is it that some people call Tidus whiny? I've been watching the playthrough and I don't really think of him as whiny. The guy may some issues with his dad but I dont see him whining about him every single second.
It's more about a general perception of the character being "weak" or immature than then actually literally making complaints all the time.
Apparently, there was a bit of a Misaimed Fandom towards Jecht which missed the point that he wasn't supposed to be a good father and Tidus was right to think he was a dick to him.
He's whiny at the beginning (I need food!) but soon gets his act together.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I didn't play that much of X (need to get on that) but Tidus' behavior made sense to me and wasn't THAT annoying. His flashbacks to Jecht abusing him verbally made me have enough sympathy to tolerate him.
I love how Bahamut's faith just busts on him out of nowhere early in the game.

Tidus copes remarkably well for someone who, in the space of one evening, loses his home and gets thrust into a strange and frightening world.
Song of the SirensTidus is alright.
I actually really liked how the Jecht Shot scene is handled if you master it. Rather than make it a big dramatic thing he just coolly flips Jecht's script about how only he could do it.
I don't ever want to fight Penance again. Once you've got the strategy down it's actually quite boring.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Cheesy as it is, I actually really like the minigame as a bit of an interactive look into Tidus' past.
I sure said that! Also he's super fun in WoFF and I find the idea that he's BFFs with Shantotto hilarious.
Song of the SirensReminds me of trying to get him to hook up with Lulu.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I liked Tidus throwing shade on it as well.
I'm not sure why'd you even bother fighting Penance when you have Yojimbo available. Saves you about an hour to get a trophy and... nothing of import ingame. Hell, halfway through fighting the Dark aeons, I went from a multi-millionaire to dirt-poor vagrant just using him to get it over with quicker.
Some people fight without Yojimbo because they want the challenge.
I'd understand if the "challenge" wasn't Penance. That's just a boring slog.
Penance isn't so much hard but alot of prep for a really boring fight since he takes VIII's Omega Weapon fight where he has a pattern and you have X number of moves before he does his party wipe... How do you counter?
Omega has different answers 'Zell, Squall and Irvine limit spam in an attempt to kill him before he uses it... IE ultima Weapon fight logic, GF/Zombie/Mighty Guard to reduce the hits to 1000 damage each shelter your hp from the damage, Abuse Hero/Holy Wars to become invinceble
ETC ETC
Penance you have no options, Here is the one strat you need folllow it to the letter makes the fight take 40 something minutes have at.
Psh really Omega Weapon was only a dps race because you only had a limited amount of Holy Wars to grant invulnerability.
You don't need Holy Wars or GF...just use Defend when you know Terra Break is coming. Bam, 0 damage.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerYeah Defend works cause Terra Break counts as a physical attack
This is what happens if you remove the 99999 cap in X.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Damn, good job!

One Strip! One Strip!
Just to follow up on Rob and complete the hat trick I want to mention that yesterday on the last page when Draghinazoo mentioned Gilgamesh my first thought was Gilgamesh.
This will be a pagetopper.
Edit:
I thought it was funny personally, I giggled when they called Noctis "Dark Cloud" even though it ain't very accurate.
