Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I don't know if my lack of understanding Japanese is to blame, but despite having never heard any of these characters voiced, I can't help but feeling that I already heard the voices in various anime.
That looks good, but I am wary of "mobile games", so I'll wait until I know more about the system to tell if I am really excited or not. Also, until the entire cast is revealed.
Okay, so Zidane is Edward Elric. That makes no sense, but I assume that it majorly factored in the Deja vu (or more accurately Deja entendu) feeling.

Park's been Zidane's VA since the first Dissidia.
Heart of StoneDissidia's seiyu cast is packed with famous actors. I can name some roles without looking for reference for most of them.
I've always imagined Steiner being something of a Large Ham. That voice doesn't suit him, IMO.
This might be him in some of his rare calmer moments.
Even a Large Ham can be serious. More to the point, maybe he'll ham it up later on.
One Strip! One Strip! That's so cuuuuuuuuuuute! *_* Tiny Vivi voice and stuff!
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe PSP Dissidias' English voice cast is amazing, for the record. Badly utilized in the first one, but it's a real dream team.
I sure said that!Guessing they'll all reprise their roles when this inevitably makes it stateside in a few months, too. I don't know how they keep doing it but they're the one company I know of that insists on bringing back even the English V As as much as humanly possible whenever a character recurs.
Justice Monsters Five launches worldwide on the 30th btw.

I never played Dissidia, due to the games being released on consoles where they literally were the only games that had me interested.
FFXII HYPE GET
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Dumb of me to say this but was ANYONE expecting Troy Baker to be in FFXV's cast?
which version of FF VI should I play?
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThere's not a ton of difference between versions, beyond that the translation used in the GBA/iOS versions lines up slightly better with other games in the series and there's a postgame dungeon added.
I sure said that!I heard really bad things about the audio in the GBA version and the gameplay of the ios version though, which is making me hesitant.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe PS1 version is just a port of the SNES version with long load times and worst sound quality. The GBA version has many bug fixes and extra end-game content, but worst sound quality and slowdown on some effects. The mobile/PC version has the same fixes and extra content as the GBA version, but has really ugly graphics.
The sound quality on the GBA version really isn't that bad. It's mostly only a problem if you're already a fan of the SNES version, and so are used to the original quality tracks.

And the SNES version has the best audio/graphics combo but a bunch of glitches that range from barely noticeable to nearly game breaking (namely, Blind and the Evade stat do nothing, and using Sketch on certain enemies causes the game to explode).
So your best bet, if you're cool with emulation, is to get the GBA version and find a patch to restore the sound quality to SNES era levels.
huh- alright. I'll look for the GBA rom with the sound patch, then.
Though I am tempted to try and break the game in half in the SNES version...
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeRest assured, you can still break it in half in the GBA version.
Trans rights are human rights.Yeah, it's far from a hard game.

I should mention that the Sketch bug was fixed in a later printing. Now, you have to go out of your way to find roms with that glitch intact.
