In regards to Angel not getting into Heaven, I suspect that, in addition to whatever other unknown criteria he needs to fulfill, his contract with Valentino might also be cosmically tying Angel down to him, and thus to Hell by extension. If that's the case, Charlie's going to have to find some way to nullify that contract (perhaps by wielding her royal authority, or maybe by killing Valentino), or else Angel is going to end up erased if he manages to become completely reformed and then tries to follow in Pentious's footsteps by pulling a Heroic Sacrifice.
The thing is is that we can only infer that, it's never said in the show whether someone who's soul is owned by someone else can enter Heaven or not. They could have had Sera say the reason why Angel isn't in heaven after meeting all the qualifications Adam made was that his owned by someone else, but they didn't.
x5 I'm pretty sure the reason why people have the Show, Don't Tell complaint is that there is a very sudden and abrupt Time Skip in between episodes 4 & 5 to where's there's only a month left until the extermination, meaning we had missed out on a lot of potential character development in those intervening months.

"They could have had Sera say the reason why Angel isn't in heaven after meeting all the qualifications Adam made was that his owned by someone else, but they didn't."
To be fair, confirming that at the meeting would downplay the point that Heaven doesn't know how people get into heaven. While that would still be true, it would just allow Sera to say: "He can't because of his deal", removing some of the conflict of that episode.

"Out for Love" is honestly the best Power of Love song ever written. Mostly because Carmilla provides a simple but practical and logical explanation for why you need it.

Here's a hot take nobody wants to hear: "Poison" >>>>>>>>>>>> "ADDICT"
It's not about the gold; it's about the glory.I'm pretty sure Addict being better than Poison is the hot take. I know this because it's my opinion on the matter.
It's been 3000 years…I'm still mad at Mimzie for interrupting the song.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Just watched the first episode, being careful to avoid spoilers.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. What were your thoughts?
I didn’t care much for it. I am impressed by it and am glad Amazon keeps pushing innovation with their animation. Though justified by its setting, its crudeness really turns me off.

Mimzy interrupted World's Greatest Dad, not Poison
I know, I'm still mad about it.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I Honestly liked that, it’s such apropriate introduction to her character and song has pretty much run it’s course (even Alastor and Lucifer were fighting who will finish it).
"I hate Mimzy for interrupting 'Hell's Greatest Dad'" mfs when they realize she indirectly stopped Lucifer from disintegrating Alastor into dust
It's not about the gold; it's about the glory. You say it like that's a bad thing in the long run
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."No one was probably happier over that distraction than Alastor.
That way, he didn't need to back down from the musical fight and face a "loss" on his record as he just let the headless chicken run around and have the battle fade away from memory in everyone else.
I highly doubt that any of his voodoo spells would have been enough to help him win against Lucifer himself.
Also, pretty funny that one of Alastor's friends is a chicken-demon since in Voodoo, chickens are used as sacrifices to the Loa for various reasons.
"If there's problems, there's simple solutions."Alastor indeed had 0 chance, his voodo spells only mildly annoyed Adam and Adam got so thoroughly bodied by Lucifer that Niffty easily finished him off

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Correct
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."I’m not sure if this was mentioned prior (I’ve been skimming over this thread), but I remember "Weird Al" Yankovic was originally Viv’s voice headcanon for Lucifer, and even though they got Jeremy Jordan instead, it really does feel like he was written with Weird Al in mind.
I dunno, something about his speech patterns AND his musical style feel Weird Al-esque.
I feel like Weird Al would have sounded very strange in his more serious moments, especially More Than Anything, but otherwise, yes.
It's been 3000 years…That would have only made the comparisons between the show and Galavant even easier to make.
It's not about the gold; it's about the glory. In a way, I’m kind of glad that they didn’t get Weird Al for it, if only because my brain rejects any attempts at hearing him cuss or say something even potentially vulgar. I just can’t picture Al saying the word ”fuck” even once.
… Then again, I also associate Richard Steven Horvitz with kids media, (even if Invader Zim clearly REALLY wants to be an adult cartoon, but that’s beside the point) and he’s still a great fit for Moxxie. Though hearing that man cuss will never not be funny/surreal to me.

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.I wonder if perhaps the crew behind the show had asked Al to voice Lucifer, but he declined precisely because he generally avoids doing vulgar material.
I hope Season 2, if not doing a genre shift, tries a structural shift.
I'd love it to have the tone and structure of a political thriller given how we're focusing on the Pride Ring's power vacuum the Vees intend on seizing.

You can definitely start with Episode 1, but for the best experience, I'd recommend Pilot (on Youtube), Addict music video (on Youtube) and then the show. There's some early installment wierdness, but they flow surprisingly well.
