Changing Patlabor from Anime to Manga?

The Patlabor is under Anime / Patlabor. Since the franchise started as a manga first, I'm wondering if it's fine to go ahead and do the change?

If that's the medium it started with, I think it's fine to do the move. I don't know if this should be in trope talk though. More of an Ask The Tropers question.

It really needs to become a Franchise namespace at this point, actually: It has a manga, two anime series, multiple animated films, two live-action films, and some video game adaptations, across at least two different continuities.

Works don't get franchise pages until they get three different pages from different mediums. From what I can see only anime and live action movies have their own page. I don't think the crossover games count towards this.

In any case, I moved this thread to Wiki Talk. I said Ask The Tropers last time but people have made similar threads here.

Okay, fair.

Digging through the Wikipedia article, I think what needs to happen first is for a separate page to be made for the manga. It and the Mobile Police Patlabor: The Early Days OVA were in independent production by separate teams at about the same time: the anime is not a direct adaptation of the manga and began airing a month after the first chapter was published in Weekly Shounen Sunday.

The longer-run anime series is a different continuity from both the manga and the OVA and film series.

I just created a half-decent page for the manga at Mobile Police Patlabor and repointed Manga.Patlabor to it. It is now okay to turn the hub into a franchise page.
