Was wondering, considering that Rufus' trope page left the spoilers unmarked, shouldn't the same also apply to Rean's page as well?

Asked on the spoiler thread (citing your post) since that might be the better place to ask for these things.

Double post, but I recently remembered this entry on Jumping-On Point that feels very kinda off with how it argues that Cold Steel is not a good entry point (even though, at least from what I seen and my own experience with starting the series, it is a solid starting point) for the series as a whole. Plus it’s a text wall. Also added Daybreak just in case.

  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel does this for the overarching Trails Series... at first. Set as it is smack dab in the middle of a military school in Erebonia, the new cast of characters is largely isolated from the plots and information from prior games. As the first entry in the series to make the jump to entirely 3D graphics, by necessity several characters from older entries had to wait a few games before they got in appearances, largely leaving the plot of the first two games separate. Problems arise however, as many background materials in-game casually spoil minor plot details from past games, crossover elements from The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure increasingly come up, and by the third and fourth titles, they're written with the assumption that players will recognize returning characters and plot points, with the over all plot acting just as much as a sequel to the events of Cold Steel as much as Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. this leaves several players who hadn't gone back to play the previous five games confused as to who these new characters are, and why several seemingly cryptic names and conversations are supposed to be important.
    • A better example of this is The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak. As the game takes place in Calvard, an important country that has previously never been visited an also stars a new cast of characters with few connections to the prior games. Aside from minor appearances from a few previous characters from earlier games, the Kuro games march onward without relying on the older entries from the franchise to hold them up, making this arc an ideal starting point for players who want to get into the franchise without playing the ten previous games.

I know the whole “which game should I start” is a rather contentious one, so I want ask more experienced fans for more output.

Triple post; after consulting with the spoiler thread, I am once again back here. So do you think Rean’s page should be spoilers off (at least for the Erebonia games)?

I've been thinking. I cleaned up Daybreak's YMMV of complaining (namely Kuro II), and I'm wondering; Does Kuro count as either a Contested Sequel or as Sequelitis?

[up]If anything, as a singular installment it'd be a Contested Sequel. I wouldn't know if it's even that, though; I'm avoiding as much as I can until the English release.

I recently hooked a crowner due to the inconsistent ways attack and art names are marked across the Trails pages. Made after asking questions here.

Crowners done. Looks like unmarked it is. I’ll begin unmarking them later.

Found this example on HotterAndSexier.Video Games

  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky: 3rd gives Scherazard a makeover, with two different appearances: One for a Flashback to five years prior to the first game, and another for her current appearance, both significantly more risque than her appearance in the first two games. And then The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero introduced a large number of busty characters (at least in their portraits) in Crossbell, including a popular actress who introduces Gainaxing to the franchise.

I have yet to play the Sky Trilogy so I can’t comment on that, but Zero didn’t really seem that fanservicey to me. In fact, it’s relatively tame.

Any other thoughts?

Sorry for the late response. I do think that Zero is where a lot of the fanservice starts to creep into the series. Sky is pretty tame, Zero kicks it up several notches. It's Franchise Original Sin for a lot of the "anime trope" criticisms in CS. Like the most fanservice we get in Sky is some tame hot spring scenes, Joshua crossdressing twice, and Luciola's design. The most fanservice we get in Crossbell, by comparison, is Arc En Ciel's costumes and the Creepy Sheep sidequest (which is far more explicit than the one in Sky, because in Crossbell they straight up remove a characters bikini top). Crossbell also increases the average bust size of the female characters compared to Sky, where Scherazard and Luciola are really the only ones with notably large breasts.

Characters.Trails Series Erebonia Thors Class VII New has this:

  • Hypocrite: In Chapter 1 of Cold Steel III, Juna calls out Kurt for acting tough and not admitting his true feelings, yet she tends to act in a similar manner when it comes to anything involving Rean. For example, when Rean gives her a speech over a video about how it's her responsibility to protect Crossbell in place of the SSS, she angrily states that she doesn't need him to tell her that, despite the fact that until she heard it, she was content with just lying in her bed and feeling sorry for herself.

I’m not sure if the narrative ever frames Juna as a hypocrite but correct me if I’m wrong.

The story does not portray her as a hypocrite. I feel that entry is unfair to her

Crown Description:

All of the pages are inconsistent with how they mark attack and art names, ranging from them being in quote marks, italicized or not marked. While the official localizations avoid marking attacks, this crowner will determine how they will be marked on the Trails pages for consistency purposes.
