Can't think of anything shorter that makes it awkward.

An indicator telling you if a user is online or not.

That's a privacy thing,not everyone wants to have their activity tracked like that.

Discord has that but you can change your online status, including making it show that you're offline even if you aren't.

I prefer if people don't realize I'm online. That way if I want to just lurk but not respond to a random PM or something until later, I can do that.

Like many others have said, I would like a better search engine for the forums, I have no idea what the current one is even looking at. However two other search options I would like are one to search only the titles of threads, like the old one did, and another to search within a particular thread; this would let me know if a topic has come up in a large thread about a show.

Honestly, I wish that Tropers and Forums pages would show up in the "Related" tab. Why don't they already?

The "Related" is intended for cleanup efforts, and those pages are not in their purview.

Custom themes. Maybe that's a bit of a high bar, but it would seriously be cool if one could create their own style to view the website in. There are so many to choose from!

I do that regularly, actually, usually when I'm trying to be specific about what part of a lengthy post I'm replying to. (Nested quotes are much likelier to be used carelessly, but quoteblocks don't do that and I would expect practical quote markup to work the same but with less typing.)

I'd like for the site to automatically open a new tab for offsite links, like what Reddit does.

This is kinda dumb and simple, but I wish we had a friend option like on Discord.

A sound byte that plays a loud "dayum!" Whenever you read anything that potholes to Take That!, simply so I can remind myself to clean that up.

Honestly, I also wish that reviews gave us the ability to rate the work in question, whether it be with lampshades, stars, faces, hats/bombs (like the ones seen on Trope Launch Pad, or really whatever.

Seeing as how we've incorporated Video Examples in response to the videos listed at the start of pages on FANDOM wikis, I'm surprised we haven't done something like this sooner.

Making a rating system out of hats and bombs would be a bad idea since TLP hats and bombs aren't a rating system, they're a voting system. As in, votes to launch and votes to not launch.

Also I'm pretty sure the videos have nothing to do with what Fandom did, though the Admins never really specified other than "We use videos now. Videos are cool.", so....

Anyway there's a part of me that wishes old query threads would lock after a certain amount of time with no activity, but that's mostly because I get irrationally bothered when they're bumped for any reason.

So you agree with me that the ability to have ratings in reviews would be cool, just not with hats and bombs?

I had no idea that video examples were an idea we got on our own, either. I just assumed that since they work similarly, we got our inspiration from somewhere.

Yeah, ratings wouldn't be horrible necessarily if they were implemented correctly. And IDK where our videos came from, the admins never clarified, but Fandom's videos work so differently that I can't imagine they're the inspiration.

Another thing: Why don't the top bar icons have any colors?

This might be insane, but here me out:

What if, in addition to the traditional Avatar set up, Tropers also had the ability to customize their default profiles in a similar way to the Mii in Super Mario Maker 2 or the Snoo avatars on Reddit? Not only that, but the accessories themselves could be based on items from well known media. It would be awesome I tell you!

This is probably never gonna happen, but what if there was a 🌎Setting/^note  I got this particular name from the All The Tropes and Tropedia categories of the same name or 🗺️Map/ namespace where like on FANDOM, Tropers could submit/create a Fantasy World Map of a respective work or verse that lists areas of various episodes/installments/factions. It would be pretty tricky to implement, but it would be awesome!

Maybe an Advanced Search on the Forum? I don't see any whenever I'm searching something on it.
