Pages Needing Wiki Magic criteria/problems

You could always take a trope you find to be lackluster to TLP for an example drive. Not many people bother, but it can be done.

Manga.Honoo No Alpen Rose added to the sandbox. Not only is it ZCE-ridden, but there are plenty of example-writing violations that need cleanup.

Please don't add more pages into the sandbox. We decided to no longer list articles on Administrivia.Pages Needing Wiki Magic. Everything on the sandbox is in the process of being moved to other sub-indexes.

Anyways, I am going to try to get this project done this week.

Cleared out the trope/index section. Put most of the tropes in corresponding subindexes and just axed anything that couldn't go anywhere else.

I wonder if we could use an index like Administrivia.Work Pages Needing Fleshing Out? Basically, if someone believes a work's page lacks information regarding a large part or is clearly outdated (for example, a series page is about a 13-episode series but the tropes only cover the first two episodes or a game page contains info which is accurate up to v.1.3 content but the game's at v.1.6 right now), then it'd be put there.

I can entertain that sandbox, maybe Works Needing Updated Information is more clear. Actually I've seen a few works that while aren't stubs, clearly look like someone read the first chapter and dropped it.

Though if someone is able to notice it, they're probably the ones up to date and should update the page right away (self-deprecating) instead of putting a reminder.

Sometimes getting to the new bits would take a while (at least a day) and not even a page maker would be able to do it. Admittedly this could be a very difficult task because not everyone would be willing to fill out a work which is a Long Runner or has undergone Seasonal Rot (good luck getting The Bold and the Beautiful to match its 8000-episode or trudging through Season 10 of The Fairly OddParents!).

Well I guess making a work page for a Long Runner without reading everything is fair, so I'm more in favor of it now.

Alright, I've started Works Needing Updated Information.

Going to do the Creators/Actors section soon. I didn't know there were that many folders on PNWM until now.

I feel that Pages Needing an Entry Pimp isn't super clear about works that have more wicks than on-page examples being allowed to be listed. Sure there's the "Sometimes you end up with a page that has only, oh, 15 examples, but 30 other pages that also linked back to it" line but I do not recall remembering that one until it was pointed out to me and there's the "If you add a page to the list, also add the imbalance (wicks/examples) if possible" and the way it was written made me think it was about pages not getting crosswicked and a decent amount of the works on the page do have a higher example ratio than wicks. Like there's no note to specifiy whether or not a work needs to have more wicks or examples. I also removed works from the list once it seems that they had more wicks than examples, especially those that had rather large wick-to-example ratio and those I crosswicked myself and either reached or went beyond the wick goal.

I PM'd two people who added such entries to the entry because I was confused as why they would add examples that had more wicks than examples as I'm used to seeing works having less wicks than examples. They said it was actually the crosswicking examples unto the work page part.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed admittely, but I feel like the page should be clearer about the adding wicks and the adding examples things.

I've already proposed Pages Needing Crosswicking as a redirect or a rename because not everyone knows what Entry Pimp is and I also don't think it's really related to the index.

I don't know when I'll actually take the time to finish sorting the Sandbox.Pages Needing Wiki Magic in one setting (I don't have the attention span to do work like that consistently...) I'm thinking that since we already voted to remove the list on Administrivia.Pages Needing Wiki Magic, maybe I can should just go ahead and remove it and just work on the sandbox in the meantime so that we can finally move on.

EDIT: If there no objections, within three days, I'll move forward with my plan.

Not sure what you were trying to do but if it's trying to add more works to the sandbox please don't do that. We are trying to sort out everything on the sandbox to specific sub indexes of Pages Needing Wiki Magic.

Anyways, I forgot I said that I was going to remove the list from the administrivia page. I'll still do it but I think have rewrite the description slightly first.

Going to do some heavy lifting here.

Administrivia.Pages Needing Images was cut, so I've copied mentions of "needs a page image" and "needs a better image" into a separate folder until it's decided what to do with those aside just cutting (probably should have noted "needs a better image" separately and asked Image Picking).

Should Sandbox.Artifacts R Us, Sandbox.English Localization Cleanup and Sandbox.Pages Incorrectly Moved By Custom Title and Sandbox.Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining be promoted or added or they're fine where they are?

Maybe Sandbox.Artifacts R Us (might need a clearer name if we decide to make it official) and Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining but the rest are more things to make the page comply with policy than something that affects the page's quality or growth on the wiki. I am fine with the sandboxes staying where they are too.

I've noted entries that said "needs a better image" and will handle this with Image Pickin, and I've removed those and all "needs an image" as it's not required. Correct?

Administrivia.Pages Needing Images was mod-cut and Pages Needing IP was cleared out completely/contained many invalid entries (AFAIK, I'm not as active in IP) so I'd say it was a good call.

That's correct. Taking the "needs a better image" pages to IP would be the right course of action.

Done with IP-related isses, which there were like... 9 of them, and half of them already had image replaced.

There are about 210 entries that mention "needs (more) indexes". Do works need more than one index?

Pages aren't required to have more than one index. If there's more than one index that's great, but it's not mandatory to search for more.

Remind me what were you trying to do with the creators section, because I may as well finish the sorting in 1-2 at this rate.

I was planning to work on adding them to all of the applicable indexes based on their descriptions but I haven't been able to that in one setting. If you want to finish the rest of the sorting, go ahead.
