Needs Help (New crowner 21 June 2021): Unwinnable By Insanity

I have a couple of questions regarding Unintentionally Unwinnable:

1. How are things going with the sandbox?
2. Does the merge need to go through TLP, or do we just need to have a mod move the sandbox's contents to Main.Unintentionally Unwinnable?

To the first, my impression is that it's largely settled: the only objections given have been acted upon, as far as I'm aware.

(To the second, I don't know: I'm not sufficiently familiar with the relevant procedures, I'm afraid.)

Well, since this has totally stalled out, I took the liberty of sprucing up the proposed description, and I'm currently working on integrating the examples from UBM and UBI that didn't have their own pages.

It's very much a work in progress, but I'm posting this now so it doesn't get clocked for inactivity.

Okay, I've built out the remainder of the subpages, merged all of the current examples, and did some tidying up on a couple of pages.

I don't know that there's really much left to do in terms of actually assembling the page, unless someone has an issue with the description or something.

One thing I do want to ask about, though: looking through the Non-Video Game Examples, the "Sports" examples have fuck all to do with the sports themselves, and are pretty exclusively complaining about the sanctioning bodies of various sports, or the results of specific fights. I'd cut the whole folder for being non-examples, but I'd like a second opinion first.

I think it might be safe to just ask the mods to move the contents of Sandbox.Unintentionally Unwinnable to Main.Unintentionally Unwinnable in the Locked Pages thread, but you might want to ask them if it's safe to do that or if it has to go through TLP. (Since I'm not a mod, I can only give my $0.02 on the matter.)

I've got all the pages situated, so I'll look for any mentioned of UBM or UBI as I start working on wicks (and I'll scan the pages in a bit if no one beats me to it).

Ah, my thanks for the work done here! And my apologies for my part that I've left this thread lying for so long.

I removed Unwinnable by Insanity from YMMV.Home Page since it's now a redirect to Unintentionally Unwinnable, and I cutlisted UnwinnableByMistake.Other Video Games since it's now a redirect to Unintentionally Unwinnable instead of being a separate page.

Anyway, has anything been done with the subpages of Unwinnable by Mistake that aren't redirects to the main page? If the examples from those subpages are already on Unintentionally Unwinnable's subpages, then I'm assuming that means they can be cutlisted (but I'm not going to unless the examples have already been moved).

Unwinnable By Insanity's been dewicked, so only 898 examples remain for Unwinnable by Mistake.

Are the examples on the subpages of Unwinnable by Mistake already on the subpages for Unintentionally Unwinnable? If they are, then Unwinnable by Mistake's subpages need to be cutlisted.

Yes

I cutlisted them. All of them were turned into redirects aside from UnwinnableByMistake.Infocom, but since that page was a duplicate of UnintentionallyUnwinnable.Infocom, I turned it into a redirect and cutlisted it.

Edit: The cuts were declined, so I'm assuming inbounds were too high to cut them. Just thought I'd mention that so everyone knows not to re-add them to the Cut List.

As a general rule, when I move pages I make pages with over 1,000 inbounds (sometimes over 500, depending) into redirects.

Anyway, as of this moment I'm down to 753.

Down to 589, only Video Game/ and YMMV/ left.

I got all the VideoGame/ wicks that start with A, so we're down to 513.

Took care of the "T" videogames and all of the YMMV pages.

345 remain.

VideoGame/ wicks between A and F have been taken care of, and that's the only namespace left to do since the only other pages are archives.

Down to 256 wicks (two are on archive pages).

Finished the wicks. Looks like this is done.
