large, disruptive ads

Increasingly I've noticed that there are multiple very large, very disruptive ads on the website that take over sometimes half of the screen. Is there anything people here can do about these ads?

Besides reporting them here, the one other real option is to either use an adblocker (and deal with the pop-up asking you to whitelist the site), or to go "Ad Free" and buy a subscription, which I did.
