So I've been thinking about notifiers a bit. They're incredibly important for helping editors understand what they may be doing wrong, even if a lot of editors tend to ignore them. And yet, there's a few issues with the notifier system, such as broken links, or the fact that we've apparently reached our limit for how many notifiers we can have. Nombretomado mentioned wanting to work on them to make them more efficient and stuff, so I figured, why not talk about them on their own thread, and figure out what we can fix?
Edit: Current notifiers are listed at Notifiers.

I think the zero context notifier could be expanded to make clear it also includes cases of "As shown in X above/below".
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. It's explained in-depth on the actual administrivia page, though
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessETA: never mind, these don't work with the notifier system.
Suggesting a notifier for people who edit drafts on the TLP without noting this in comments and/or make large edits such as adding examples (as it's come up several times I've seen).
You've made an edit to a draft in the Trope Launch Pad without asking. This is considered poor TLP etiquette. Many TLP denizens are protective of their work and do not like it when other people mess with their drafts. Making major changes to a draft that doesn't belong to you — such as adding examples — is considered incredibly rude at the very best and may even be considered vandalism. It's generally okay to correct small errors, like typos or formatting errors, on another person's draft, but you should post a reply clearly stating what you were doing as common courtesy. Please see more on Minding Your Manners here at TLP Guidelines. Thanks.

I know more about obscure 1990s Middle Grade Literature novels than most people. You actually can on the history screen, but it's bugged. I've tried it before.
Besides, no reason to send notifiers when you can just ping people to the draft.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI just sent one for an edit to a draft I'm working on (since someone went and stealth edited) and it offered all the drop down notifiers. But I understand.

I know more about obscure 1990s Middle Grade Literature novels than most people.Did it actually go through? And did it link to the draft correctly? I did send one before, but like I said, it didn't work as intended.
Either way, how does it beat pinging them directly?

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIt did send, but I looked and the glitch is that while it sends the PM, the PM doesn't properly link to the actual draft. I didn't realize this as last time I reported a stealth edit on ATT I was told to send a notification to the offender first before posting there. I understand it's not useful to add to the drop down notifiers and pinged them in draft before I sent the PM. This all makes sense.

I know more about obscure 1990s Middle Grade Literature novels than most people.Yeah, exactly, they technically work but are kinda useless if that glitch is around since it just makes things confusing.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMaybe the glitch needs to be addressed in Query Bugs then?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMaybe? The issue is that unlike normal pages, TLP edits aren't individual items that can be linked to.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYou can. Not normally, which is another glitch.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWe don't appear to have a "this trope is No Real Life Examples, Please!" notifier, no?
No but I do think it was mentioned before.
Macron's notesShould there be a notifier for unexplained removals (besides deleting YMMV)?
Thanks.
