What's the hate with UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium?

Welp, the majority has spoken. Despite my preference to UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium and resisting the compuslion because of the appearing reditect name, moving it to The 2000s.

"Turn of the Millennium" isn't clear on which millennium is being discussed.

The accepted name was not UsefulNotes/TheTwoThousands, it was UsefulNotes/The2000s.

This is clear enough in our lifetimes. But I'll concede it for clarity in the case of future generations reading this.

Alright, I have no excuse for this, and it's too late to joke about it, and I apologize for trolling.

But at least UsefulNotes.The Two Thousands is close enough. Other decades didn't use numbers, so I followed with it, and the same for Main.The New Tens and The New Twenties.

We ought to wick this now.

"Close enough" isn't good enough. The crowner decided on a title, and you unilaterally changed it to something else.

I'm fine with having UsefulNotes.The Two Thousands as a redirect, but UsefulNotes.The2000s is what was actually chosen.

Well, I agree to disagree.

Despite UsefulNotes.The2000s having the most number of votes, I feel like it's an Odd Name Out to the Useful Notes of the other decades. I mean, we don't call the UN page for The New '10s as UsefulNotes.The2010s. No, we call it UsefulNotes.The New Tens. It has the same name as its Main page. So does UsefulNotes.The Eighties, UsefulNotes.The Nineties, etc.

My intention in starting this thread was to rename this to UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium with mod approval in order to be easily accessible to the Subpages list, but it branched out into something else. This was not meant to be a poll for the a title.

We got mod approval to change the name to UsefulNotes.The2000s, not UsefulNotes.The Two Thousands. That's what bwburke and I are trying to say. The other decade pages' names aren't relevant when it comes to what ended up being chosen; this thread isn't about those pages.

To make it up to this, why not start up another crowner with just UsefulNotes.The2000s and UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium? The runner up will be the redirect title. No tricks this time.

We don't need that crowner. UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium has a negative ratio in the one that was called, so consensus was against it. UsefulNotes.The00s had more votes in favor of it (while still having a negative ratio), while UsefulNotes.The2000s had nearly unanimous consensus in favor of it.

If we have another crowner, it would make more sense for it to be between UsefulNotes.The Two Thousands and UsefulNotes.The2000s, because UsefulNotes.The2000s is the only crowner option with a positive ratio.

Also, something came up to me. Rather than sticking to renaming the Useful Notes page to UsefulNotes.Turn Of The Millennium, I'd go along to the suggested titles above. Should it be renamed to either of the suggestion above, why not rename Main.Turn Of The Millennium to either Main.The Two Thousands or Main.The2000s?

I'm not fibbing, and I'm no longer salty. But, at this moment, I wonder why the Main page is called the Turn of the Millennium instead of the the more particular The 2000s or The 2000s?

So, I've been thinking, instead of changing the Useful Notes page to go in sync with the Main page, why not also rename the Main Page to make it clearer?

I went ahead and made the crowner so we can get this thread out of the backlog, since there shouldn't be much else to do here other than changing wicks (since it's a Useful Notes page and not a trope).

In my view, there's no reason to spell out "two thousands" when we don't need to. That's why I prefer The2000s.

I agree, but had I thought of it, I would have put both on the original Alternative Titles crowner. If a mod rejects the crowner I posted earlier, then I think the safest thing to do would be to move everything to UsefulNotes.The2000s, dewick the redirects, and get this thread over with.

The crowner wasn't hooked, so I'll probably go ahead with what I mentioned in my previous post soon (the top choice in the original crowner, UsefulNotes.The2000s (with "2000" written using numerals instead of being spelled out), is the top choice in the new crowner, regardless). Since I'm going to be out of town today, I probably won't be able to do much (if anything) today.
